His death has just been announced.
www.bbc.co.uk...

I propose to justify the title by presenting some sample clips taken from "The Innes book of records".

Firstly, he captures the essence of the Eurovision Song Contest;

His view on elections;

Some classical music? It's a fugue by Bach, BUT...

What do men have on their minds? (Translation issue- "A bit of the other" is an old British euphemism)

"Freedom is the handle on the bucket of the soul". Discuss.

This seems to be an imperfect version of the spaghetti western tribute. It doesn't show the classic moment when the two gunmen facing up for a duel turn round and shoot the annoying trumpet-player in the background.

He was the urban spaceman.

2 cannibals are eating a clown. They're both laughing.

R. I. P. Sir. You made us laugh and that's a valuable thing. Slap me with a fish.

When I was old enough to have my own TV I discovered The Innes Book of Records along with Spike Milligan's Q series , The Innes Book of Records was the weirdest thing I'd seen on TV and although I don't think I understood it it did make I laugh.

RiP Neil , you crazy guy.

Thanks Sheye.
I remember what rock stars did to tee-vees in hotels back in the day. Something about windows and at least the tenth floor. I'm older. Shh!

I remember him as a cool young musician cum comedian in the 70s.

75. Wow. Where's the time gone?

Seems like a parallel universe.

I've got a major case of earworm with Urban Spaceman.
