Washington Legislator Matt Shea Accused Of 'Domestic Terrorism,' Report Finds

Six-term Washington state Rep. Matt Shea is accused of participating "in an act of domestic terrorism against the United States," according to a report released Thursday.

Independent investigators commissioned by the Washington State House of Representatives found that Shea, as a leader of the Patriot Movement, "planned, engaged in, and promoted a total of three armed conflicts of political violence against the United States government" between 2014 and 2016.

The report also concluded that Shea was involved in training young people to fight a "holy war." He created a pamphlet called Biblical Basis for War and advocated replacing the government with a theocracy and "the killing of all males who do not agree."

With everything going on in DC this story seems to have slipped under the radar. Back in July the Washington House of Representatives commissioned an independent investigation into the activities of Rep. Matt Shea. The findings were just released on Thursday and they're shocking to say the least.

As of now Shea's future remains up in the air. House Republicans will no longer caucus with Shea. Meanwhile, it sounds like Democrats are going to push for expulsion.

This is definitely going to be an interesting story to keep an eye on.

I'm not going to defend Matt Shea, but I will bring up the fact that when a Democratic Socialist demanded that Boeing workers burn down the main manufacturing plant, and actively protested and incited violence in the streets of Seattle, she wasn't touched. There is even good evidence of election tampering in the last election, but she wasn't even given a second thought since her opponent conceded the vote. She even has been shown to make her decisions on how to vote for city policies by calling her Trotskyist movement leaders that reside outside of the country to inform her of what to do. Again no one wants to make a move on her.

If Matt Shea was a Democratic Socialist, I seriously doubt anyone would make any issues about him doing what he did.

What part of “give unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s” does this guy not get. The bible plainly says that you are not to fight the government, I think the Romans put in that part. The government says do not play religion within government.

Double failure this one.

And yes the Democratic Socialist should get the same treatment. No longer allowed to play in government, public humiliation, all votes they made be null and void, anything (laws, bills, and the like) they made be removed from all legal consideration.

Then we can consider prison.

The GOP is a criminal organization. That’s not even really debatable at this point. I’m not surprised in the least. Remember the Republicans in Oregon that ran like children from casting a vote under the protection of right wing domestic terrorists?

As time goes by their acts of treason and sedition will only increase. Especially while people in their own party blind themselves to who they really are because of partisan politics.

these few hardly qualify as the entire GOP. And The same can be said for the DNC and its base too these days. good thing im a constitutionalist.

Well, at least when a Republican goes rogue, the other Republicans in the legislature blackball him and try to get him to resign. The Democrats i seem to support their members that are causing chaos.

He should resign, The Republican party does not need those kinds of representative .

The FBI would love to get their hands on Shea because of his support of Cliven Bundy and the Patriot Movement. In which the FBI ended up murdering Robert LaVoy Finicum.

In that event, the FBI is the Domestic Terrorist.

It looks like there may also be some blowback from this in Idaho. State Representative Heather Scott is mentioned a number of times in the report in relation to helping Shea.

If this is true, he should be gone.

He'd fit right in to the current House of Representatives. It seems more than half see their role as destroying the US Govt and shredding the Constitution. That's currently the only role of the House.

Representative Shea, via his private email account in the name of ‘Verumbellator’ sent a document … entitled, ‘Apparatus of Repression’ … The document attached to Representative Shea’s email detailed extensive law enforcement confidential information laying out the command and control structure of Washington state law enforcement agencies. The document was over 250 pages long and contained rosters of local FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) agents, SWAT team member lists complete with names and badge numbers and the Joint Harbor Operations Command (JI-IOC) building schematics. The document also included the names and home information of FBI, DHS, and Washington State Patrol agents, photos of SWAT teams, street surveillance cameras, aircraft and communications equipment used by law enforcement in Washington.

Representative Shea on January 4, 2016 through the use of email and using codename ‘Verumbellator,’ covertly disseminated information to … State Representatives from Washington, Idaho, and Nevada, and to Patriot Movement militia leaders and others, that detailed and warned of specific law enforcement operations and actions in response to the armed takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Harney County Oregon.

Based on evidence obtained in this investigation, it is more probable than not that Representative Shea is likely to plan, direct and engage in additional future conflicts that could carry with them significant risk of bloodshed and loss of life. It is the professional opinion of the Investigators, that on a more probable than not basis, Representative Shea presents a present and growing threat of risk to others through political violence.
