Until President Trump is acquitted by the Senate, the only label he'll wear is "INDICTED".
Actually, he will ALWAYS wear the label "INDICTED" and be part of that exclusive happy crew.

Exactly. Democrats will be the only party in history to ever use impeachment as a political weapon. It's disgusting how far they have sunk.

OH NO! Not the witnesses!

(surprised Pikachu face)

The process of discovery was in the House. If these witnesses were soooo important, they would have been called there, right? Right?

Or are you implying that Nadler and Schiff are that incompetent?

I like Nancy Pelosi. I think she's done a good job.

I agree she's done a great job for the Democrat party and pandering to progressives. Screw everyone else and especially the country.

Pelosi runs the House. That's it. She can coordinate their impeachment effort.

The Senate is not the House. But she is telling them how to do their job. Pardon me, she is determining what "fair" is.

If I was ol' Turtle McConnell I would publicly tell her you did your job Nancy, now step aside. If you want to sit on it forever, go ahead. But why did you waste the taxpayers time and money?

Actually she is holding them until she can be assured that McConnell will conduct a fair trial.

Hopefully he can offer something.
Other than, I am not going to be impartial.

Lock him up!!!!!

So hold them indefinitely. If McConnell doesnt give in to your demands they will never be released?

Lolz🤪

They had three weeks of making their own rules and denying the Republicans a fair minority trial. Closed door meetings denial of republican witness testimony. They called people who pander to their narrative just to get sound bites.

Do you really want three more weeks of this circus? He's not getting removed from office and if you celebrate them pushing this until they have a senate majority say goodbye to the union and the independent voter.

I wish people would realize this "whatever is take to get rid of trump" tactic might harm the republic beyond repair. Just beat him in 2020 and move on.

Or even better take the senate and have actual evidence to impeach next time instead of seeming like poor losers

Ok I did, I dont really see as much stupidity in it as I do in some of the conservatives posts...
And, I dont believe there was ever any judge who found the need to tell nancy that she wasn't above the law in a court decision like at least one judge has done in response to his lawyers arguements in their court.

Now, maybe take your own advice.
Because it really looks like the best that can be said is that ATS has become filled with a bunch of pots calling the pans black! Same with congress.
The same ones that were passing the impeachment articles while clinton was lighting the national christmas tree are now bemoaning how its christmas time, we cant do such a thing this close to christmas!
While no crime was needed then, now it is. And on and on. And, of course, the dems then were sounding much like the Republicans are now.

Like my first post pointed out.. it doesnt matter is nancy sends the articles over now or after their christmas break. The senate isnt gonna do much with them till after they come back. And, she isnt stupid enough to hang onto them too long I dont think. Unless, of course, they decide that they dont want win.

Unfortunately for them, the Senate can act, regardless — and would vote to acquit.
That’s because the Constitution is absolutely clear about the Senate’s authority. Article I, Section 3 says: “The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.”
That is all.
The Chief Justice presides over a trial involving the president, but the Senate makes the rules. And the Senate is controlled by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who regards what the House has done with contempt.

iotwreport.com...

It should be interesting, but in the end (bold is mine) my link easily states that the Senate has the sole power and there's not a damned thing Schummer or Pelosi can do about it.

False.

She is holding them because she knows this sham will end at the Senate and their 2020 slogan will be no more.

Come on now, even a child knows this.

In recent weeks, several impeachment "experts" have come on liberal CNN and MSNBC to express their hope that Nancy Pelosi would delay sending the Articles of Impeachment over to the U.S. Senate until after the November 2020 elections.

McConnell should immediately call her bluff.

There is no precedent for any such thing, so here is what McConnell should do...

Pass a resolution in the Senate that gives the House 72 hours to present the Articles of Impeachment top the Senate, or the Senate will consider them expired, and the House will have to have another vote if they want to send them to the Senate after the expiration date/time.

I'm guessing here that if they hand them over they don't get to go home for Christmas. I would bet that's the real reason to hold back. The Americans would move forward immediately to start the trial and everybody gets to spend Christmas together in beautifuk Washington DC.

That's what I would do!!

No. He is now the 3rd sitting US President to be impeached.

So, if you have a law breaking speaker with a majority behind that person.

She has not broken any laws that I am aware of. Precedent, yes, absolutely, but not laws.

Of course not. The Senate will blow this entire thing open. They'll ask for evidence.

House: Do you have evidence Trump broke the law?
Yes
House: Good enough.

IMPEACH!

It's not gonna be that way when this goes to Senate.

But the funniest and saddest part in all of this was seeing so many people dumb enough to think impeachment meant removal from office. Tons of democrats have already walked away. How many more will walk away once they realize the left have played games and wasted so much time?

The House has gathered evidence, that is their job right? Are you saying Democrats rushed a vote before gathering all the evidence? How can they vote to impeach knowing they don't have the facts?

If they do have all the facts, then give them to the Senate so they can see the facts and vote.

Actually, she would probably be better off politically to just send them over and let congress not do their due diligence and just sit back and let all these court cases to make their way through the supreme court, have hearings based on the information that they obtain through court orders and well, if the supreme court slaps down trumps arguments about his taxes as strongly as the previous judges have,
Spend the money to have that decision published in as many newspapers as possible. Take quotes to use in political ads. And, remind the voters that their representatives in the senate did all they could to cover for trump.
Of course they are taking a risk that nothing will come out in the end, but then, if that happens then they probably shouldn't have impeached to begin with.

I like that

It affirms their willingness to respect the process and proceed accordingly, but refuses to be manipulated and controlled by the lower house.

I would say give them 72 hours to give the articles and evidence to the Senate. The Senate will vote on the evidence provided, and after 72 hours it will vote if no evidence is provided.
