Me knows not why the pic did not load for you. Just one of those things I guess. As long as you got to see them in the link than all is good.

I figured the fairies with the help of a few of the pixies would keep things in line unless we get to rowdy for them.

Looks like they kept the place clean.

Shhhh, people must be resting. It's so quiet in here.

Let's go hang out at The Green Forest Inn/Pub. We'll leave a note so everyone will know where to find us.

I think many are still asleep after finding the Orc mead last night.

More PM's for you when you are ready.

I love how enthusiastic you are about what ever you put your mind to. You don't just have fish you have a science project, I find that admirable. And educational for me.

Pics please, There Will Be Dragon Tails

A science project, that's a very good way of putting it when it comes to balancing the tank chemistry! It's crazy how much you have to consider, and how it impacts the water. The fish waste impacts the water, the plants impact the water, even different food types can impact the water slightly differently when it decays, the STONE TYPE you put in impacts the water (some futz with the PH and/or hardness) It's all a chemistry balancing act. I's not all that hard to manage once you figure it out, but getting there is a learning curve. It's more or less homegrown marine biology

The younger kid is mostly in charge of taking level readings and relaying results, she lets us add the chemicals if they're needed, and water conditioners (to remove chlorine and metals from the tap water, those are no bueno for fish)
She has a keen interest in aquatic life & habitats, so she's learning as much as she can now so she can have a shrimp & aquatic frog tank some day down the road (we're thinking maybe for Christmas)

I ran the idea past hubby that maybe we could add 2 African Dwarf Frogs (exclusively aquatic, no need for heat lamps or dry space) to the big tank, and he kind of pursed his lips at me. He's been waiting to get fish he'd prefer to put in, lol, the plecos and loaches weren't his picks. He just okay'd them. I figure I'll revisit the amphibian possibility after he gets his guppies sooner or later.

I kicked Butch & Sundance out of the bedroom again early this morning, I got tired of being the kitten race track in my sleep. Or rather, trying to sleep while being trampled during play fights & chases. "ALL RIGHT. THAT IS ENOUGH." Scooped them up, went out in the hall, set them down and closed the door, with them looking at me like, "...Wut?"
They ended up doing all that in the older kid's room, she wasn't very pleased with being woken up that early (I think it was around 5 or just before)

< takes a deep breath > They will grow out of this phase, they will grow out of this phase, they will grow out of this phase...

I had the african dwarf frogs. I love frogs! Check youtube for informative vids. Watch a number of them. One will tell you under two feet of water, another may say less. Mine loved bloodworms.

At the same time I had fish and someone gave me ghost shrimp. Weird looking things. I love the red shrimp with the white polka dots. I also love the fire bellied toads. I always wanted to come home with one thing or another when visiting a pet store. LoL

Oh I didn't know the orcs were making mead last night. Wait...why do we have orcs in the Shed wine/booze cellar and why are they making mead?

Thank you, then I thought you also approach it as an anthropologist. You immerse yourself in the environment taking all measures not to contaminate it.
I like the combination. I do the same with creatures other than humans.

The younger kid is mostly in charge of taking level readings and relaying results......she lets us
That made me giggle She "lets" you.
That is so cute and at the same time I see some one with great responsibility in the making.

She has a keen interest in aquatic life & habitats,

If you are interested, I listened to an audio book by a marine biologist that was very intriguing, and could also capture the attention of a younger audience. It is very descriptive. She was an octopus enthusiast.

I kicked Butch & Sundance out of the bedroom again early this morning

I get where you are and yes they need there "freedom" but when mine where in that phase, I fed them in the giant "birthing cage" closed the door and had a restful night.
Oddly they never complained, they just had their chow and cuddled up.
I still do it if I really need rest, they have a bed, food, water and a "rest room". Cat heaven.

they will grow out of this phase...
"This Too Shall Pass" and you will blissfully forget the pain.

he kind of pursed his lips at me. He's been waiting to get fish he'd prefer to put in
He needs his "OWN" tank, just give him his own private "Man Tank"

I didn't know we had orcs? I am confused
Especially because they are in the wine cellar. So confusing.
Didn't you have the keys? Who has the keys? Do we have keys?
Gordi must have let them in.

The orcs bribed the pixies with a few jars of honey that they use in part to make their dark mead. The orcs love mead as it is so simple to make.

My daughter wanted to follow along with one of the Youtubes you shared the other day. Before she started, I made her commit to following through and finishing the drawing--even if it didn't turn out as well as she hoped. (She's like me: she tends to quit when she gets frustrated.)

She did get frustrated. Her head sank low and she cried a little. I reminded her that she commited to finishing the drawing, so she did. She didn't want to show her mommy or me when she was finished. She didn't like the wings, or the fact that one of the eyes is larger than the other. But we cheered her up, reminding her that the woman in the youtube tutorial likely had thousands of similar drawings as practice.

Anyways, I am proud she finished and I like the drawing. Thanks for sharing those videos.

Blue knows more about what's going on in the shed when we're not home. Well, I hope they were nice orcs. Bah, no they are not, they bribed the faeries.

So you allowed the faeries to be bribed by orcs? I thought you were guarding the place. Did they bribe you too?

Oh DOE, I just love your Daughter's drawing! It's wonderful! I would proudly display that on my fridge for all to see and you can tell her I said so. You're a great Dad encouraging her and all.

Tell her, I would love to see more of her work.

I suggest we give the orcs a chance anyway

At least they bribed the pixies and not just hands down knock them out or something. I wonder if the orcs smell awful? i was thinking of going to the wine cellar to search for some lager.

They brought hand sanitizes and promises of more toilet paper. Who do you think is hoarding it all?

Yes, the orcs do smell but ATS terms and conditions prevent me from describing what the smell is like.
