Police are people. People make mistakes. I get that, but if u are a force, you should learn as that force. Everyone was created equally. Police officers are there to assist an investigation? A investigator prepares documents for the district attorney, and judge? A district attorney gathers as much as they can from the investegators. The honorable judge, dictates what is real and not real. The judge or jury decides if this was edvidence beyond a unreasonable doubt.

So you want the cops disarmed and they can call firefighters (also unarmed) or the army if they need armed response?

Makes total sense.

You can't protect and serve without a pistol.

The media has taken every opportunity they can to make the police look like bad guys. Pay attention to the law, obey it, don't run, and everything will be fine.

What would you rather have here... People who obeyed the law and showed courtesy or disarmed police who can no longer help you? These guys are just doing their job. They don't know who or what they're up against from one situation to the next.

How does having guns or not affect police use of excessive force? Example: Rodney King

Street cops should be under constant and real-time scrutiny. If you want to prevent them from being arrogant trigger-happy, puppy killing bastards with low regard for the public, they should feel eyes in their backs 24/7. Why? Because as soon as a newbie cop leaves the academy and hits the locker-room of his/her new precinct, they’ll be submitted to peer pressure from the veterans full of piss and vinegar.

You know this as a fact how? You sound petulant; did you fail academy entrance exams? Street cops bad; other?! desk jockey cops good.

We'll always have those people that never think ahead.

Eliminate the guns period would be my thinking on the matter.

Although i realize its not exactly the most realistic goal, especially where the US is concerned.

In theory, i don't disagree with that, then again absolute power corrupts absolutely.

An honorable judge is probably a lot like an honorable Police these days, meaning few and far between.

Except the bad guys are all armed.
Not a level playing field.
