Article from Gateway Pundit.

Per the Washington Post, the House Judiciary Committee will vote on the two articles mentioned above later this week.

The 2 lamest, most wishy-washy "crimes" possible.

"Abuse of Power" is entirely subjective, almost by definition. And the House seems to be doing an excellent job obstructing itself. In fact, Trump arguably has been facilitating Congress by refusing to aid the Dems' monkey poo throwing exercise.

Any mention of any kind of real crime (like bribery) has apparently disappeared, and Mueller's report has reportedly been flushed down the memory hole (since it cleared Trump of colluding with Russia).

The real charge is, that by winning the election, he thwarted the political machines. For that sin, he must be impeached.

At this point in his administration, it is, for me, neither here nor there. But the precedent this is setting is incredibly bad. Trump won't be the last president to be handled like this.

Cheers

Mueller flushed his own report with his testimony under oath before Congress. What an embarrassment. Putting Mueller in the hot seat showed just how incompetent the members of the team and the report itself was.

There are several reasons why the Dems cant charge Trump with "bribery", but I think the main reason for them is that they would have to throw away Biden as a 2020 candidate automatically.

Bill Clinton, under oath, told a lie, on film.....
Didn't get removed from office.

Now the dems want trump removed because they feel that trump felt he was abusing his power..

The dems leadership quality is right up there with that big mint in the bottom of a urinal.

Well, I'm sure this will turn out the same way, with senate shooting it down.

Both impeachments seem like they were/are political in nature.

He should ask for bribery charge.

He does not need to give up. He should demand a trial.

Bribery was a stupid charge anyway. It really just showed how desperate the Dems are to find something to impeach Trump for.

The problem for them was, none of the things they accused Trump of was illegal. As has been pointed out here on ATS many a time, there is no such crime as "collusion". Also, quid pro quo is not illegal in a diplomatic context. Diplomacy has always been based on a quid pro quo relationship. (This is aside from the fact that it has been proven that neither collusion nor quid pro quo happened.)

Once you start trying to stretch logic to argue that Trump was exacting personal gain (which could be bribery), then the Dems open themselves up to attacks, because half of them have been doing exactly that for years.

The closest thing to a crime might be witness intimidation, and even that's lame as hell, because Trump has the same First Amendment rights to express his opinion as anyone else does. Plus, it was Adam Schiff who read the tweets to the witness, so if anyone committed witness intimidation, it was him.

At this point, I expect the House Dems will ultimately vote to censure Trump, as a way of making this go away, so perhaps there might be a chance they won't lose their House majority next year.

The Muller impeachment has backfired with FISA now starting to come out. Ukraine has backfired with Quid Pro Joe now in the spotlight. Now abuse of power, sure, cannot wait to see how this one is going to backfire as well. Cannot fix stupid.

Nowadays, someone obstructing Congress ought to be given a medal.

Two things D's are clearly guilty of themselves.

Their double standards are alive and well.

ICYMI people were playing 'judge' and 'Witness' yesterday.

Totally. Also, Andrew Johnson's impeachment was entirely political. Congress didn't like him, so to create grounds for impeachment they passed a law saying the president couldn't fire any of his cabinet secretaries without Senate approval. (It was known that Johnson hated his secretary of war, who he'd inherited from Lincoln, and planned to replace him.) The law was flagrantly unconstitutional, a total violation of separation of powers. But they still relied on it to impeach Johnson.

Nixon's impeachment was the only one grounded in any real crime. These days, Nixon could just get a FISA warrant to spy on his political rivals.

First, the Democrats are trying to change the standard of impeachment. They are literally changing the rules to fit their theatrical story. Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler wrote in the preface that the previous reports on grounds for impeachable offenses in the Nixon and Clinton eras “remain useful points of reference, but no longer reflect the best available learning on questioning relating to presidential impeachment.”

The Report, however, claims that impeachment exists, “not to inflict punishment for past wrongdoing, but rather to save the Nation from misconduct that endangers democracy and the rule of law.”

This farce in a nutshell.

From the Get go.

Misconduct,Democracy,Rule of Law has been under assualt by D's clear case of Trump derangement Psychosis.

Schiff is saying that they might not win in court so they have to do it now.

And he just implied that Trump cheated in 2016!

What a show!

LOL! No surprise that you didn't understand the comment you're replying too. They are pointing out how ALL of the things the Dems have accused Trump of over the last three years are backfiring and hurting them worse than Trump.
