Mel Gibson did a spectacular job with PASSION. His
next film is to be about Fatima. We have the old
(and charming) black and white Fatima movie. It's
wonderful. If Mel puts as much work into Fatima
as he did Passion, this new film will be amazing!
I'm looking forward to it already.

Excerpt -

Mel Gibson's follow-up to his successful The Passion of the Christ movie
could be about the three Fatima children who are believed to have seen
a vision of the Virgin Mary.

Gibson was reportedly moved after a secret meeting one of the three -
Sr Lucia - at her convent shortly before she died last month at the age
of 98.

In 1917, Lucia, 10, and her cousins, Jacinta and Francisco, won
international fame when they said the Virgin Mary appeared to them
in a vision at Fatima, Portugal.

The shepherd children said that in the vision the Virgin predicted
World War II, turmoil in Russia and a Pope being shot. After the
vision, Lucia became a Carmelite nun.

No doubt that Gibson found a way to profit in a big way, targeting the religious groups of the nation.

He is doing just great, all he has to do is produce one religious movie every couple of years and keep the money flooding his coffers

Interesting! It is a pretty good topic to cover in a movie. On a side note, I wonder why, during his conversation with sister Lucia, Mel had to talk to her through a metal gate? Health reasons? Or is there some thing that prevents her from being face to face. No conspiracy related questions there, just curiosity.

I saw a commercial on the tube this morning where Mel is releasing,"The passion" in a recut version. I had to ask myself what the hell THAT was all about, I mean, did he change the ending or what?

All former druggies and drunks have to work their program, which means a strong reliance on god. Mel just gets to work his by making movies that keep him to busy to party hardy.

I don't blame him and wish him sobriety for the rest of his days.

Love and light,

Wupy

I doubt this will do anywhere near as well as The Passion since he'll lose all the Protestants and fundamentalist Christians.

Interesting! She die's a month after his visit. She was supposed to tell the worl something important. Maybe she passed it on to mel to pass on to the world? I guess only time will tell.

Yup.
Though ya never know what the Baptists are gonna do until they do it.

10 years ago I'd have bet good money no traditional minister would ever preach the Rapture.

Media is influencing pop-religion big time now.

My sentiments exactly, Fatima, and Mary sightings are not of God.

He's making a movie about the appearance of the virgin mary in the city of fatima? doesn't sound that important no? I'd've liked ot see the apocalypse or somesuch, that'd be interesting. Not realistic tho. Perhaps a better choice would be the evangelizing of some of the apostles, like with Paul and Peter in rome or somesuch.

The interesting thing about Fatima is that when teh RCC brings out the statue of the virgin mary into the procession, at least in some areas, there are muslims, who come out in great numbers along with the catholics (well, seperate). They are overyjoyed because a daughter or some such of mohammed is named fatima, and they treat the statue and procession as if it were meant to represent her instead.

EVEN THO they are expressly commanded not to produce icons, or even realistic art!

Need it be so cynical tho? Perhaps he's just very ferverent in his beleifs? He claimed that the holy ghost itself helped inspire him while making the passion movie. He might as well be a genuine beleiver.

I think he was intially inspired to do the Passion making Braveheart. Or at least when the test audiences gasped at the scene of him on the cross with food being thrown at him. His little mini Jesus epiphany as William Wallace. Freeeeeedom. That whole scene was pain. Why not make a whole honking movie of it in aramic?

First we have to watch 'Mad Max: Holy Sadomasochism', and now we get to see 'Mad Max: Holy Halucinations'. I won't allow this murderous porn in my house. I can imagine standing before G-d: 'Yessir, ah watched that there Mad Max's movie of us all killin' yore boy, and ahm washed in th'blood. Ahm fergiven, ain't ah?'

Man, I know what I would do if I was God. I'm a father, too.

Oh man, but it was a damned good beating. Now that's how you treat a radical militant dissident.

Man, I know what I would do if I was God. I'm a father, too.

You've prevented that act in the first place no?

The recut of the Passion is to remove some of the more violent scenes, to make it more acceptable to parents who wish their kids to see it but minus some of the gore and violence. (It isn't doing so hot btw...)

As for Fatima...should be interesting, though I fail to see how one makes a decent movie out of a few short alleged meetings and vision sessions...

Oh no. I said 'murderous porn'. I have nothing against 'love porn'. Why is a film of a drug-crazed loser blowing away everybody in sight (mad max) considered socially acceptable, while a film of two or more people procreating is not? Why is it acceptable to idolotrize the death of a Jewish citizen in a bloody psuedodocumentry (POT,C?) but not to graphically depict Isaac and Leah and Rachel propinquing (oh my!)? Why is graphic murder OK and graphic love is not?!

I extend this loathing to all 'murder' or so-called mystery movies.

As a traditional Native American, I find moderns- especially xtians- to be neurotic, conflicted, and downright psycopathic. Yes Mel, I mean you.
