The worst things about total grid/communication break downs are the insufferable trials for cannibalism that always follow once civil society has been restored.

Luckily, most folks don't remember the big one of '13 ... due to mass traumatic memory suppression (MTMS for the ones in the know). I was fortunate to have a very understanding judge and jury, who were, obviously, fellow survivors... and not related to my former neighbors.

Well, Trump certainly might not be happy with being held accountable for his actions by legitimate and constitutional impeachment proceedings. He might try to pull something like martial law or starting a Civil War over it. That could make communications go down. Although I don't see why Republicans are willing to go to war over Trump (it's not like he is ever gonna do anything for anyone but himself).

Anyway, great find OP! A communications blackout would be rather... interesting in the Information Age. I wouldn't be surprised if I lived to see one. This is why I collect stuff like books and offline games.

All right, watched most of the video now. So yeah, who knows what could trigger this, but I'm guessing something to do with the impeachment proceedings. He talks about some sort of information leak. Could theoretically be Trump OR "deep state" actors. Or just the government in general if something controversial comes out.

Other nations have already been field testing some of this blackout technology. It is a 100% reasonable scenario imo in the event of civil unrest. Is civil unrest likely? I mean... there is some serious political polarization going on right now, so it seems likely to me eventually if we keep going on this trajectory without anyone fixing it first?
