Or you could learn to relate to someone who isn't your ethnicity. That would be a novel idea.

Honestly, that's your response? You do realize I never said that I didnt like characters of different ethnicities, only that I dislike when they change an already established one... right? Besides could not your own logic be used against you, and those who push for this, that you should try to learn to relate to someone other than their own sexuality or ethnicity instead of insisting an existing character be changed to fit their narrative. Just a thought.

Ummm, that's not what the poster said though.

You learn to love and relate to a character as they are. My son loves the movie into the Spiderverse and really likes Miles Morales, and the movie does a good job explaining how in multiple realities, fate has decided there will be a version of Spider-Man, but that it doesn't always end up as Peter Parker.

My husband also like the movie as a veteran Spider-Man fan himself because the movie gives a plausible explanation for why there are slightly different versions of Spider-Man out there.

He likes it much better than when they just up and suddenly stick a different ethnic background on a character or a different gender without any real explanation except ... reasons (this or that suit said "DIVERSITY") ... People don't just change like that in reality even though, yes, you learn to like people for all of who they are.

Thank you, and that's a great example of a company that created a new different character and gave a plausible reason for why things are the way they are in that universe compared to the "known" universe. That's what I like to think of as a company that has respect for their fan base, both new and old.

If you all remember the first movie, she locked herself in a room for a very long time. She wasn't exposed to the LOONY LEFT and their many many self imposed crisis's. a reply to: CIAGypsy

well its the children who refuse to grow up that love disney movies who are now politically active as adults
that want politics in movies

You know the girls and boys sorry women and men who are now in their 30's/40's grown up watching disney movies
now want to continue to watch disney movies
but also want to see what they believe the world should be like in disney cartoons for kids

so they will reeeeeeeeeeeeeeee sorry rally against anything that doesnt fit their own world view
and will complain a lot about the movies

just like video games now
video games developers constantly get harassed for their games which have yet to be released as being either
"not political enough" or "too political "

its mental

I mean what the # ever happened to artistic license ?
yet everything now has to be litmus tested by the PC culture progressive liberal overdrive
which turns all that lovely colour into the same bland dull grey #

I fully intend to steal this quote and use at every suitable opportunity.

I will of course give credit where credit is due.

I agree whole heartedly! They don't belong in children's movies.

They don't need to be in any movies. Getting sick of having this garbage shoved down my throat.

Hollyweird is wondering why nobody wants to go to the movies any more

High tickets prices

Ridiculous price for popcorn and drinks

No new content - everything is sequel /prequel or remake of previous movies or based on comic books

Then expect audiences to sit through couple of hours of propaganda for whatever the current perversion is

No thanks

As an aside the #1 movie last week was MIDWAY . a historical retelling of irst 6 months of WW II in Pacific

No "people of color"

few female characters , then in minor roles

Full of toxic masculinity ……..

Now that's what you call a movie …...

Yes, I'm just ranting because I know there are people out there who are OBSESSED with identity politics. Correction.....people are just obsessed with politics. They want to politicize EVERYTHING and I'm sick to death of it.

I agree politics don't belong in Children's movies.

I also don't think LGB etc. is a political issue. It is an personal issue that has been politicized. Government should stay the hell out of it's citizens personal love lives. Politicians can't help themselves because it is an easy identity politics button to push.

Elsa doesn't need a boyfriend or girlfriend. It is lazy for writers to include a love interest to make a story work and it is less important for children's movies.

But a quick search of news stories for Frozen 2 shows all the people who are losing their minds because Disney chose NOT give Elsa a 'love interest' in Frozen 2. I can't help but be disgusted by this.... Why does identity have to come down to sexuality? Who cares if Elsa doesn't have a love interest, let alone if it isn't another woman??? Can we PLEASE keep sexuality and politics out of children's movies???

And not one of those post came from children.

Earlier this week I spent the entire day in training for how to deal with children that have been exposed to traumatic events. The one thing that quickly became clear is that the helicopter parents have landed. Make room for the lawnmower/bulldozer parents.

Parents are becoming their children's own nightmare. Parents have changed their goals from preparing their children for their future, to molding their children and creating their future. A guaranteed fail, and a a guaranteed future of pills, dysfunctional, miserable children, with no desire and no hope for life.

Parents need to stop controlling their children and to guide them.

Oh dear...don't even get me started on that one...or we'll end up with a long diatribe about a poor little BOY in TX whose bat$*(* crazy mother wants to convince him he's really a girl on the inside because he liked Elsa.

You are absolutely right about this. Sadly, people who want to make their own points heard, will use this types of platform and hide behind their fake morality that they are actually victims and champions of their issue of choice. In effort to promote normalized Verizon's of different kinds of sexuality we are forgetting that children shouldn't be a part of that conversation.

The same people who loudly state how important it is for lesbian bat woman also state they won't ever have families.... I don't need rhem to try and tell me what's right for kids. a reply to: CIAGypsy
