Well, who would have thought eh? ISIS announces new Leader.

Round and round we go. I have to say the utility of terrorism is really becoming very tedious, particularly the apparent trading of freedom for "security", FFS.

An IS outlet announced on the messaging service Telegram that Abu Ibrahim al-Hashemi al-Qurashi was the group's new leader and "caliph".

Linkifiction

Hashemi's name is not known to security forces, and is believed to be a nom de guerre.

I'm sure the creators know exactly who this clown is, and considering the he has a nom de guerre it looks like the happy days of fearmongering, regime toppling and the dispensing of freedom and democracy will continue, through the utility of terrorism, ad nauseam.

What is the purpose of naming your top terrorist leader to the public? That immediately puts a target on his back. If it's arrogance it's also bundled with stupidity.

The object of a perpetual war is to occasionally justify it with the
killing of the boogeyman...of course from an endless supply. It's
also a domestic relief valve for the slaves it's fed by.

But if we didn't have a name out there to associate with the threat
he/she would be too unreal. Too bad Baghdadi wasn't even who
THEY said he was... you'd be surprised. Maybe not: think of
somebody like Tim Osman but kosher this time, and you're warm.

The Islamic State do not operate in the same way as a more clandestine cell based organisation, such as Al-Qaeda. The Islamic State operates more as an actual state. Hence the name. The Caliph is the head of state. You can’t have a country without a leader.

At the height of their power the Islamic State had courts, a police force, schools, taxes, a bank that issued it’s owm currency, welfare and economic programs, a cabinet of ministers and a pseudo-parliament. All of that continues to operate in one form or another. It had to if they are to continue to claim to be a nation-state.

Much of their draw compared to other Islamic terror groups is they have actually created their Islamic Nation (as they see it). The others, such as Al-Qaeda, mostly promise a revolution through violence, and once the old order is overthrown then begin the process of creating an Islamic Nation

Have a seat gentlemen while I present a brief linguistic analysis done via google because I already recognized both names from previous studies.

Hashemi Name Meaning. Muslim: Arabic surname indicating descent from Hashim, great-grandfather of the Prophet Muhammad.

www.ancestry.com...

He has a genetic descent from the guy who God chose to unveil his perfect final religion. He rode a flying unicorn to heaven from Temple Mount in Israel, God's most sacred place on Earth because the Jews said so a few thousand years ago even though the Jews are their mortal enemies.

The Prophet travelled from Mecca to Jerusalem in a single night on a strange winged creature called Buraq. From Jerusalem he ascended into heaven, where he met the earlier prophets, and eventually God. During his time in heaven Muhammad was told of the duty of Muslims to recite Salat (ritual prayer) five times a day.Sep 7, 2009

That's why they've fought wars with each other over it since the medeval times and the West Bank is a state that exists even though it doesn't share a border with Gaza which is a part of it. It's the reason the Al-Aqsa Dome of the Rock Mosque exists, which is the spot that he did it at.

All of the hashish in the world can't get you that high but it apparently happened. Then again, realistically looking at it, if I lived in 600 A.D. in the desert full of rigorously studied stories about supernatural events and God and on hashish staring at the sky, this could be possible.

Qureshi Name Meaning. Arabic: name indicating descent from the Quraish, the leading tribe in Mecca at the time of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (ad 570); the Prophet's mother was a member of it.

www.ancestry.com...

Not only is he related to Muhammad, he's of his tribe too. You'd think this would be obvious because how else would he be directly related to him unless some of Muhammads descendents were having children with non Muslims, but these things happened in the days of sex slaves before modern contraception was invented.

In other words, that's not even the guys name and a rather pointless statement basically saying "We have a new leader who's also descended from Muhammad like Baghdadi said he was." It's what he's going to go by, his terrorist handle with implied meaning because he believes he's prophetic level.

Ok, all of that makes sense. So far it's been a long time between eliminating the top dogs but I can see going after them would be a fun job, kind of like sniping feral hogs.

Pew, pew, pew...
