20 year Friendship. Walk away or not?

This has happened to me a few times and I'm very cut and dry....once a girl mentions that she wants to move on, I tell them I could never.be friends after such a close relationship and its best we 100% cut ties.

After a week of 2 they usually call, then the tough part of saying we have to stick with what you originally felt and stay apart.

Then just go out and look to have fun. No relationships, just fun.

And usually when your not looking for a relationship is when one pops up.

It can be hard. I has a buddy who said he threw up when his girlfriend left him.

Try and laugh about how much it hurts, it will give you a good laugh 15 years from now

I look back on previous relationships with no remorse. In fact I has a couple of lucky escapes.

This one is different however. Friends for 20 years and partners for 9. We went through a hell of a lot more than the majority of couples will ever experience and managed to come out the other end only slightly scathed. Obviously She has been hurt by our recent and her previous past more than anyone realised. Friends and Colleagues say to drop her and run away but thats the painful part.

I woke up Monday morning wondering why I let myself feel so bad about this.
