A little bird just told me that info about groom lake (Area 51) was purposely leaked to the media yrs ago to distract attention away from the US's newest top secret base in antarctica!

Is this true?

It would make perfect sense. People from all over the world climb the mountains in Nevada just to see area 51, but who in their right mind would trek accross the coldest place on earth to visit a base.
It would be perfect for the governments black projects etc.

Does anyone know of this base and are there any sattelite phots on the web of it???

Just how NEW are we talking here? As in, how long has it been there?

Just an FYI, there is a longer thread about this in this ATS forum

The base at Lake Vostok is one of the more interesting places in Antarctica right now...because of Lake Vostok.

The lake is under thousands of feet of ice, yet the lake itself is still liquid...most likely because of the geothermal heat. The interesting part is if there is life in that water, what would it look like (?), seeing as how it hasn't been affected by anything on the outside of the planet for as long as that continent has been affected by the South Pole.

Other than that, I have heard of nothing to assume there is a base there for the American military...yet.
