Um... really? No matter what they think of Trump either personally or professionally, he is the duly elected president of these united states, with all the power thereof. It would be stupid for anyone to NOT take him seriously.

And regardless of personal opinions, this letter was an official document from a foreign leader and therefore subject to record keeping laws and procedures.

I think world leaders are just biding their time, laughing at Trump and America by extension. You said it yourself, he's just a flash in the pan. It would be stupid of them to take anything a blowhard like Donald Trump does seriously when he's just temporary.

I didn't know about Erdogans record keeping laws.

Trump has now threatened at least twice that he will ruin Turkey's economy if they do anything untoward. So far Erdogan has flagrantly ignored Trump's threats.

I have to wonder, if Turkey doesn't end up seeing any repercussions, will all those Trump supporters that criticized Obama over his red line give Trump the same treatment.
