Democrats Have Lots of Ideas

So many, can't even keep up with them. They also seem convinced their ideas are the best solution. Maybe they are. Who knows.

The debate moderators though, are either unaware or have forgotten many of these candidates could could submit a bill right now on their amazing ideas. AOC did it. If they are so passionate and full of conviction like Bernie, Warren, Tulsi, Kamala why not write the legislation and go for it. All they have to do is get enough in Congress to agree with them that wow, this could absolutely work.

You're missing the fact that none of these candidates have any intention of implementing any of these measures because that would cost them the election.

It's called "campaign promises" for a reason.

This just seems to be the inverse of the lead up to 16'.

I remember the Republican debates being a hot mess when they had so many going for the ticket. The left on the other hand just had two for most of the time, Bernie would steal most of the spotlight, and the networks and DNC would load the deck for their establishment "shoe in" to keep the Bush/Obama era of politics running strong.

I haven't watched any of the lefts debates this round, I doubt I will as none of the candidates really interest me. I just imagine it's a contest of who's further left, and who dislikes Trump the most, proven by how many times they can say impeachment.

Not that politics have been good for some time, but it's only getting worse each cycle.

I get it's gauging voters but anyone with an average IQ has to find it beyond comical that Bernie can find the time to write books on his eureka ground breaking utopia ideas but can't find the time to write a bill to get it in motion.

The only logical reason would be books make money not bills.

Just like the right had congress, senate, and presidency for 2 years and did nothing.

Both parties are owned by the same contributors. They make promises for the people while delivering to those who fund and lobby them.

Most of the establishment wants to keep things the way they are, they only provide lip service to appear otherwise during campaign cycles.

What Republicans never want discussed in the public discourse

Maybe if we start demanding they write a bill (both sides) for their great ideas we could finally tell them to either write a bill or shut up about. I think that would be best for everyone. Get it down in writing for a vote then they can discuss it because they are spending 99% of their time running their mouth about it when they have the power for action.

I had a similar idea.

So when you work for a private company, many times your expectations are clearly laid out. If you don't make said expectations, you get put on a performance improvement plan (written up, and told fix your performance or hit the door).

So elected officials pitch their platform. They have to make every attempt to accomplish said platform, or face the ramifications. They also have to be in attendance for a certain amount of time. Most industries don't allow you to just show up when you wish.

Also, if you don't meet a certain threshold, you can't even run again.

How Democrats will "handle" the 3.5% unemployment rate is their big problem 👁️‍🗨️ 🎱 👁️‍🗨️

All the ideas come out of the left by definition.. dictionary definition..


Conservative/rightwing = Uphold the traditions of the past instead of embracing new societal change..

It comprises the establishment, the status quo, the aristocracy or 1%..comes from the fact the aristocracy sat on the right in the French parliament after the French Revolution..


Leftwing/liberal= ignore the traditions of the past and embrace new societal change..

The peasants, those outside the traditional power base, labor force, exc..


Comes from the fact the commoners sat on the left in the same French parliament..


So ALL ideas that are new, are inherently leftwing.. good and bad.

But that also means that the conservatives are always wrong long term... because everything can be improved.

Another super obvious factor that conservative media pretends does not exist is the fact “the left” covers WAY more ground than “the right”..

Which kinda makes it where there is no “the left”..


Conservative want to conserve the traditions of the past , we’ll those traditions are the same for most conservatives.. not exactly the same of course, but within the same ball park..


Liberals are anyone wanting to try something new... aka there is no consensus in absolutely anything..


Black panthers and the lgbt community are both left, but have nothing to do with each other and probably hate each other..


The reason they are left wing is not that they agree or are in cahoots..


The only reason they are left is they want something new..

It's considered the fundamental flaw of most western governments. Ancient Greeks and Romans had the same problem. There is only one way to hold politicians accountable for not following through on their plans they ran on; Vote them out which kinda happened. Middle class leveled the blue wall and said they wanted to give it a what the heck with this guy.

exactly. And if that happens again, there will be some loud voices here pointing it out, myself included. Finger pointing is nice, but getting things done, you know, YOUR JOB, will be the order of the day. We already know Democrats aren't interested in fixing anything or moving forward with anything other than impeachment, so it will be up to the republicans to make things happen, and if they fail, there just isn't anyone left.

Absent that most get flushed out with candidates who aren't beholden to the same financial interests of their predecessors, the same is destined to happen again.

Maybe that's my cynicism after never seeing a politician from either side of the aisle deliver, but fool me once and all of that.

Remember, most candidates do not even attempt to fulfill campaign promises, they would never pass because most Americans cannot afford to pay half of what they earn for these promises.

Obama did attempt to fulfill some, they went horribly wrong though because he went to the people who would profit from them to make his plan. Trump tried but ran into a cement wall and lots of what he was trying to get done was actually good for our people. But of course, to get support for what he thought was the correct approach he had to make deals that were not good for the whole country.

Politics is mostly a scam. We elect the best deceivers to fill positions hoping they will learn to con their way into getting what the people they represent want or need. Our type of government is not good, most programs to help the needy or to help protect our nation line the pockets of people who already have money.

Conservatism is the ideals from the American Revolution, limited government, no taxation without rep, and freedom being at the top.

Real liberals are really the same as conservatism. However, the modern day liberals are really fake liberals using liberalism to mask their agenda.

They are really socialists, and fascist. Depending on how much they want government involvement they could be communist if they want complete control of the economy or if they want to control the economy but still allow entrepreneurship but heavily regulated then they are fascist just like how the Nazi ran their economy.

OK, well most of the "ideas" on the left are not "new" ideas. They're things that have been done in other countries all over the world: gun confiscation, socialized medicine, subsidized college tuition, even a version of the Green New Deal exists in Europe.

So they aren't your much vaunted leftist ideas, they're really old ones given a coat of fresh paint to make yourself feel better.

You're just as conservative as anyone else in the world. You just don't like American conservative. You'd prefer the European or even Chinese style conservatism. There's an easy fix for that though. You could move there and feel right at home.

Yes - it is amazing how people who are conned into being envious and jealous of people who have more than they do, and believing that they have no control over their own lives and situation, end up withe less.

I wonder what would happen if people would stop believing there is one pie and they can't get more without taking it from someone else, and just start working to better their lives.

Change for the sake of change? That's just dumb.

People who believe in the core American values of liberty and freedom are extremely flexible and always willing top change if/when something better presents itself.

Leftists always want to change toward the side of authoritarianism, in spite of thousands of years of historical evidence as proof that that way is doomed to failure, chaos, and death.
