A no fly zone was asked for at the beginning of the offensive. By the Kurds.

I think any Russian influence will be extremely limited in scope. Also it's mostly mercenaries doing the fighting. Turkish soldiers are mostly in a support role it appears.

I'll bet you 10 bucks this is going to end with the US helping the brave people of Turkey against their Syrian/Russian enemies...

Peace

Syria is one of the seven countries that was on the list.

There must still be a few copies of it out there.

Maybe Russia is backing a no-fly zone now? If Russia had to choose, would she choose Turkey over Syria?

I hope you are right and it stays contained. With the way things look in that region right now. A small spark could set off an explosion.

Why?

Seems to me that replacing the usa troops with russian and syiran ones would keep things like they were.

I don't think turkey would throw down with russia. Do you?

Yes what happens when joint allied Russian and Turkish forces clash with a NATO member, if its ignored then NATO might be on its way out.

Or Turkey will be out of NATO.

I think the latter is slightly more likely than the former.

Oh look, the region is handling the problem without us.

That's hilarious.

It was the US and it's Criminal Institute of America that started the whole sh!t show in the first place, FFS. And now they're leaving you're claiming that somehow they were there to help......WTF?

Nah, will never happen, worst case scenario is it could ignite tensions and divisions in Europe between ANTIFA and the Muslim brotherhood who have been working closely to undermine European nation states

this is all good and proper but.... the US still has nuclear weapons stored in Turkey.

it feels like a massive elephant in the room is being ignored.

Do you think they can be remotely triggered?

Better we have nukes in Turkey than they have them in the US.

I wouldn't have a clue, but if Turkey tried to move on the base I doubt the US would play nice.

This whole situation stinks, there are reports the US were seen leaving a base/area then minutes later the airstrikes came - almost like it was co-ordinated.

and Turkey bombing the ISIS prisons and camps thus allowing them to escape is far to convenient.

the idea all along was that the State Dept was building this ''ISIS'' mercenaries unit in Libya, using it to oust Qaddafi then shifting it to Syria to oust Assad. So, who's working with who here?

Trumps threats of sanctions seem like empty air

I don't think this was a surprise to anyone there except maybe the Kurds. I think Russia, USA, Turkey, and Syria had this all worked out. Why? Because Iran started to squawk but shut up real fast. Why? Because they were not involved with the plan as Iran and the USA aren't getting along right now maybe?

Like was stated above by someone.... It looks like the "art of the deal" to me.

This will save a lot of bloodshed of the Syrians and Kurds since now Assad doesn't have to fight to take back his land. The Kurds, who are holding that land and not allowing Assad in..... are now begging Assad into their area.

Win-win huh?

More Kurds would die if Assad had to go fight for his land back from them. So they need to be grateful this happened and they are not going to have to fight Assad, Russia and Iran. The fact that they can not see this is not the USA's problem.
