Looks like the latest crime statistics from the FBI are what most of us knew who have been keeping up with this sort of stuff. There used to be interviews with criminals who flat out stated that they wanted easy targets certainly not some target that might fight back.

We learned from the FBI this week that violent crime and homicides declined in 2018. Now a new report from the Crime Prevention Research Center shows while crime is down, the number of Americans who possess a concealed carry license is growing. In fact, the number of concealed carry license holders grew by 1.4 million people to 18.66 million, and at this pace, will eclipse 20-million concealed carry holders in 2020. The new report notes that the rise in concealed carry licenses comes even as several more states have become “Constitutional Carry” states, where no license is needed for legal gun owners to lawfully carry.

In thirteen states, more than 10% of adults have permits, down from just fifteen last year. The three states that now fell below 10% are now all Constitutional Carry states – Arkansas, Oklahoma, and West Virginia, where people no longer need a permit to carry in their states. South Carolina was the one state that had been below 10% that was now above it.

It is just common sense.

An armed society is a polite society.

People will whine when the bad guys get shot but hey, don't do the crime and live a little longer.

If the opportunity presents itself, it appears I should consider retiring in one of these 3 states where I predict gun related crimes/homicides will fall in direct proportion to criminals becoming aware that everyone they are about to attack is packin.

Notice how there was no thread on the recent mass shooting in Austria? Or a thread on any of the 33, 300 plus shootings in Mexico?
Hmmm, wonder why that is?

Because they don't happen every other day.

With 33,300 in Mexico you are correct....They do not happen every other day but multiple times a day..

I knew a few Doctors in Mexico who never left the house or hospital without being armed... Unfortunately the general population can not afford nor do they have the connections outside the cartels to get armed and fight back.
www.borderlandbeat.com...

Eleven alleged members of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, CJNG, were arrested in possession of weapons and explosive devices in Sahuayo, Michoacán .

Elements of the Ministry of Public Security ( SSP ), the State Attorney General's Office ( FGE ), National Guard ( GN ) and Municipal Police ( PM ) also secured four vehicles, 17 loaders and 382 useful cartridges of different calibers and tactical equipment .

Two motorcyclists were driving at high speed, so police officers stopped them, but the criminales ignored the police officers and began shooting at them and took off which began a chase.

"El Caballo", a CJNG hitman has been assassinated; He was accused of having burned a family in Empalme, Sonora.

Jorge Enrique Cuesta Grajeda , aka " El Caballo ", was killed by an armed group in Valle de Guaymas, Sonora; The man was accused of having burned a house with children inside, in Empalme.

Sometimes I wonder how many of our politicians are bought and paid for by the Cartels to disarm Americans.... Scoff not it works in places like Chicago and other gun restrictive cities.

www.borderlandbeat.com...

A wave of violence could be unleashed in Mexicali and San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora, over the struggles to control the plazas. The wave of violence that affects San Luis Río Colorado (SLRC), Sonora and Mexicali, Baja California , initially begins with the incursion intent of the criminal group called Los Salazar, by taking over the border city of Sonora.

While in the Mexicali capital, an alleged disagreement between operators of a cell belonging the Sinaloa cartel (CDS), caused the killings in the Ejido Sombrerete and the Kilometro 57 town of Valle Mexicali on Sept 6, 2019

Sure everything that happens in a third world country is comparable to what happens in a first world country.

For comparison lets start with child slaves in West Africa making that chocolate you consume regularly.

Violent crime has been dropping for decades independent of concealed carry laws...

I know stand your ground laws had dramatically increased the rate of victims being killed.

Mexico is third world? Is this the same Mexico that is the 14th largest economy in the world? Or could it be that you just perceive that because they are brown? Cuz that could be perceived as racist.

Then they should be even more news worthy.

The fact of the matter is that most random robbery type crimes are semi-impulsive..

They are not doing a lot of planning for the question of if they are armed to be a deterrent.

I don’t think Those types of deterrents Work for The more impulsive crimes.

While I'm a staunch Second Amendment supporter I'm not seeing how they tied those stats together, they don't list which states had the drops in crime and whether those are concealed carry states or not.

Apparently stand your ground laws have just created more murder victims....

Obviously when you decide to stand your ground when retreating is an option. Sometimes you will lose...

The hero doesn’t always win in the real world..

So yes, the number of attackers who were shot and/or killed has risen. So has the number of robbery victims who were murdered And everyone of them would have lived if they retreated..

The attacker is convicted in most cases, but the victim is still dead..

Apparently ... Obviously ... The Hero ... attackers were shot has risen ... robbery victims has risen ...

Everyone??

Obviously!

The article said numbers were down ... you increased them.

You may need to study up on logic.
