As you stated it I think it depends on whether you have contact with yourself.

How many of you are there?

How can 'you' have contact with your self?

You can only be what you are.

That's wishful thinking.

we are simply reliving an earlier existence. Our lives, or at least the major milestones, are predetermined, our choices already made, and our decisions only seem to be spontaneous.

Others propose we are living a computer game where we have little control. Our choices do not change those events we are destined to experience.

4.) Does a Simulated life mean a predestined life? Do our choices matter?

www.reddit.com...

4) No — again, video game scenario. But, it is just data.

2. The basis of the simulation is a quantum computer of near/actual infinite energy and thus has randomness “baked” in, ergo the simulation has randomness “baked” in, therefore predestination is impossible in the simulation.

3. Free will exists in the simulation only in so much as the parameters of the simulation code (physical/natural laws) allow.

4. There may exist other simulated universes and we may exist within one or a near infinite number of them as a ‘lower’ or ‘higher’ level.

If this is a simulation then even the body and the movement of the body are one with the simulation..... there is no thing separate.....no one existing in it.

That's wishful thinking.

How does that answer the question?
How can 'you' have contact with 'yourself'...... are you two separate things?

What are you really?

Yes.

Buddhist concept of non-self comes to mind.

In Buddhism, the term anattā (Pali) or anātman (Sanskrit) refers to the doctrine of "non-self", that there is no unchanging, permanent self, soul or essence in phenomena.

Yes... the appearance is empty.

There is no one in the body.

There is just what appears to be happening......there is no one doing anything.

The cosmic joke is the myth of within.

There isn't someone that can try..... trying appears to happen.

There is JUST what is appearing.

If happiness/enjoyment appears there isn't a someone separate that can enjoy it..... it just is.

As above so below.

'Is reality void?'
What is appearing as form is empty.....

If there is an above and a below then there is direction, thus no emptiness.

You mentioned quantum reality.... as above so below refers to that.

Scientists have looked deeply into what was assumed to be a solid atom and find 99.99999999% empty space.

So then, within and without empty space there is matter and energy; it is the only conclusion from your post.

Scientists say that a vacuum has particles that appear and disappear.

A tv screen has pixels that appear and disappear..... forming what appears to be a moving 3D image with people and other things.

So do our dreams and the act of imagining...what are we to assume? an intermingling of consciousness and energy and matter?

There is just what appears to be happening.

There is nothing separated from what is appearing.

So this is choiceless..... what is happening is empty, there is nothing/no one in the body.

Everything is simply being what it is..... there isn`t some thing inside choosing or doing actions.

The idea of a dream appears and disappears instantaneously. Everything is appearing and disappearing.
