Ask yourself: is your car protected against reedlebeatle?

If you are a million years ahead of us that does not mean you have discovered the same things we have, or that you have controls in place against vulnerabilities you haven't even thought of. For example, in the 1940's and 1950's we employed high power radar systems. It is suggested that the powerful radio waves accidentally brought down various flying discs. Only later were these discs protected against it.

I can fully imagine that a civilisation that never used radio waves to detect objects or communicate over longer distances would never even have thought of protecting their vessels against such waves.

It's similar to you protecting your car against reedlebeatle, a bacterium that multiplies at an extremely high rate if it has sufficient iron available to eat. Reedlebeatles literally converts metal into rusty manure and can digest a car or small plane in roughly 20 minutes before dying off for lack of food. If you happen to fly over the Pacific and just one of these bacteria infects the plane, you are doomed.

There are very good controls available to prevent this: one of them is to coat the metal with a mix of sodium thiopental and light olive oil (10000:1 mixture), which will protect it for roughly 20 years, given that you have painted it over with a special paint that protects the anti-reedlebeatle layer.

So, is your car protected against reedlebeatle? I guess not. It does not matter if you are advanced or not, if you did not know reedlebeetle existed, you and your "advanced" tech would be vulnerable still.

Parts of our ancestry goes back hundreds of millions of years adapting to this plant. Now we have space lasers too...

We have lots of sensors that can detect our environment and changes that occur. Natural selection will eventually work it out for which ones work better than others.
