"The consensus in our caucus is that our focus now is on this allegation," Pelosi told reporters earlier in the day, adding: "This is a coverup."

link

So to recap: a whistle blower from the CIA who admits he/she did not listen to the Trump-Zelensky call and did not see the transcript, made a slew of allegations that they "heard" and "learned" from other people that Trump threatened Zelensky, made him promises, threatened to withhold aid, offered a direct quid pro quo, AND that there was a coverup.

The press freaking explodes-- this is the one! Why, the acting DNI even threatened to resign!

Democrats screech "Impeach! "

So what does the administration do in response to the breathless coverage? Trump denies it. Trump immediately says, go ahead release the transcript and the complaint. Trump and Levensky hold a joint press conference in which Zelensky shrugs and says, "No, you heard. We had I think good phone call. It was normal. We spoke about many things. So, I think, and you read it, that nobody pushed. Pushed me."
The acting DNI comes out and says, "uhm, no. At no point have I threatened to resign".

Even reports that the IG found the whistle blower to be a rabid partisan.

And now, after we read the transcript and hear from the principals, it didn't happen. None of the whistle blowers complaint appears to be supported by evidence. In fact the complaint itself starts as hear-say. Once again, the story rests on innuendo and rumour.

And how do we know that anyone with a brain already knows this story is dead in the water? That it has all been yet another in a string political hoaxes overhyped by the DNC and a rabid media?

"The consensus in our caucus is that our focus now is on this allegation," Pelosi told reporters earlier in the day, adding: "This is a coverup."

That's right. The fact that this allegation actually has zero supporting evidence is now evidence of ... A coverup. The very fact it appears untrue, Nancy wants you to believe is really evidence that it has all been coveredup.

Yikes.

Clever stunt by the partisan whistle blower, though...

Remember what Chuck Schumer (D) publicly warned the President some time back? "If you cross the intelligence agencies, they can screw you six ways to Sunday."

The "whistleblower" if that's what you want to call them, should be outed and fired. First, for lying and trying to undermine President Trump and second because they're a political activist in a position that requires the opposite. In their position, they should be apolitical.

If the whole thing sounds vaguely familiar to the Ford-Kavanaugh story, it’s because it is.

Democrats are destroying themselves.

This is the most prolific example of mass hysteria I've ever seen.

It isn't a transcript. It says so on the first page. What it is, is an edited memo from the White House. From the same people that are the subject of the accusations.

The fact that this allegation actually has zero supporting evidence is now evidence of ... A coverup. The very fact it appears untrue, Nancy wants you to believe is really evidence that it has all been coveredup.

Obviously it does have supporting evidence. The Trump appointed IG investigated the allegations in it and found them to be credible. And Maguire agrees with his assessment. Did you miss the hearing yesterday?

The allegations in a whistleblower report like this by law have to be investigated before it's submitted to Congress.

It looks more like a set up than a cover up. The push for impeachment has gone rabid blind in wanting to take down Trump by any means necessary. In doing so it looks like they have been lead into a trap in which the crimes of the DNC is getting exposed when they thought they had a chance. These people are stupid.

The push for impeachment is going the same way as the Russian Collusion election garbage. Better these idiots waste their time on something that is not going anywhere than stuffing up the county even more.

It is all just more projection fueled by hatred, blind hatred. See, their calls ofr "reading between the lines" and equating the phone call to a mafia style conversation is because that is how THEY talk, that is how they do political dealings, that is how they act. SO, "logically" everyone else does that too. They are accusing the president (and the president of a foreign nation) of covering up what they would be doing in their position.

How does anyone with more than one functioning brain cell not see this for what it truly is?

Does it really matter if they heard the actual phone call when the events outlined in the complaint and the summary of the phone call corroborate each other? I mean isnt this splitting hairs?

In the
Deny
Distract
Divert
Attack
modus operandi list this falls squarely under attack.

No surprise.
Now trump is insinuating that there may not be a whistleblower at all and that its all made up.
We are back up at the top of the list again.

YES IT MATTERS!!!

If you are going to accuse someone (anonymously) of such high crimes and misdemeanors, then you damned well better be a first person witness to such things!

Unless, it is ok for me to accuse you of child pornography and pedophilia because I heard a few people talking about it to me. Hell, why not report it to my local police dept, using the whistleblower law to hide my identity.

BRB, I'm taking a walk to the local PD office to file that paperwork now. Good luck with the ramifications....because if you deny it at all, I will accuse you of covering it all up.
