Brightburn

I just watched this movie and I thought it was awesome! Basically superhero horror. If Superman was evil. If you are into superhero stuff and/or horror, I strongly suggest you check it out.

I like when DB dresses as Wonder Woman, which, in a way, is also horror.

That movie was horrifying for me. I can still picture a severed jaw bone!


On the flip side, it was well written and presented.

He wouldn't have been a bad kid if the parents weren't soo terrible at raising him.

What I took away from this was simple, bad parenting = psychopath.
(and that seem very relevant today, minus the super powers of course).

AND if you thought this movie was great, then your minds will blow up in colorful glitter after watching The Boys

I found it to be okay, but nothing to write home about. I tend to watch almost strictly horror movies with a little sci fi thrown in for hubby's sake and the only horror movie I've seen this year that surprised me at all was "Us". It is becoming increasingly rare to find horror movies that don't at least touch on previously presented fodder, but at least "Brightburn" didn't straight up clone previously seen material. I'd give it a solid "B".

Brightburn was a fun watch for a popcorn type of movie, and I liked the twist on the superhero genre. A sequel could be fun if you watched the after credits scene.

The boys was awesome. That scene with the dolphin in the van - priceless!!!

The kid from Brightburn is a young Homelander from The Boys.
The parents #ed up with him. They don't even bother trying to find somebody to help the kid, They go straight to we need to kill him.

Got a kick out of seeing Matt Jones in this. He played Badger in Breaking Bad. And what a gruesome incident he had in Brightburn.
