The stitches are out. The holes they were in are closed and the scab is fine so I'm home. I'd gone to my friend's to recover because she does home health care and I couldn't sleep with my dogs because of infection risk. I still can't drive. I won't be able to until a few physical therapy sessions.

I've had one weird side effect. I keep having a really irritating tickling feeling up and down my leg. I figured out what it was the other day: leg hairs rubbing on my pant leg. I think the nerve was pinched before the surgery and it I just never noticed but now that the damage is fixed I feel it again and have to learn to tune it out.

Take care of the important stuff. Update us as you are comfortable and able. We'll keep your seat warm until you're ready to come back to your cranky old man duties.

Or...shave your legs.

I can't bend down to do so. Bending is very bad.

Thanks. I have a followup appointment in a couple weeks. I think that's when I find out when I can return to work.
