If it took 30,000 years to recover from "Dino-killer"...

As a technologically advanced society, we produce products that would survive and be found. Not to mention just like the dinosaurs who left us many fossils to learn from, we would also leave our own remains behind.

If there were an advanced society before, the evidence would be there to show it. It does not exist. The evidence of dinosaurs did not disappear and no way could the existence of we humans disappear.

Not always so, what about for example cities that could have existed around the Equator during the last Ice age when sea levels would have been much, much lower than now and those cities would be now underwater.?

Or what if there was a civilization in Antarctica when it was free of ice? What if a cataclysm would have caused entire civilizations to be deeper underwater, under ice, or under meters of dirt if there was intense volcanic activity, or some other cataclysm?

For example, what about "the 8th lost continent" which now is nearly 1,000 miles under Europe?

A lost 8th continent is hidden nearly 1,000 miles under Europe, new research shows.

The vedic scriptures state that mankind has been around for millions of years, but cataclysms, including wars, caused mankind to have to start over. They talk about technology that we now know were atomic weapons, among other technology like flying saucers which the Vedas claim mankind was given that technology by the gods/ets.

Three Hundred Million Years Pranava Veda Fifth of Nine Vedas Aindhiram Tamil?

Oppenheimer, scientific director of the Manhatan project, himself gave a quote from chapter 11 verse 32 of the Bhagavad-Gita. “Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds”, when he was talking about the atomic bomb.

Evidence huh? For what? You want evidence for a past civilization I suppose.

Well probably wont get any, even if there were. # does seem to happen, you don't have to lose your head over a theoretical believe. All you need to know is that 10 million years is a long time, and anybody that says that they know what exactly went down or was around then. Is sort of full of themself's.

Sure science has come a long way, but human error creeps in when people try to make toast from time to time, and it gets burned. So if you think you all know everything that has happened back then. That's quite a believe and all believes are based on faith. The faith that bones in the ground that fossilized will tell you everything you need to know of what happened 10 million years ago and down to a T and milisecond.

Kind of like the believe that your ancestors had that reading the entrails and casting the chicken bones told them everything they needed to know about the future.

I dont believe in anything. I merely am saying, well it could have been, not quite like we believe it was. Maybe. Maybe not, kind of hard to draw a definite conclusion to life, the past and everything that has happened based on what we have. Such a meager anecdotal evidence would only satisfy the foolish.

So like I said, no worries and dont lose your cool, or head over it, as opinions on such things dont matter, we will see in 10 million years if all the gold pendants and trinkets humans made will still be around. Till then, everything you said about the things you made lasting the tests of time...Is merely just like your opinion man.

Besides there is a place and time to lose your head. Just look at that guy at Pompeii, now that and then was a good and extremely appropiate time to lose ones head.

Anything made before the 90s will still be around.

Anything made after won't be.

That and our nuclear waste.

What if?

The world is full of mythology like that, however I don't think it has anything to do with this topic? Why bring religion into a non-religious topic?

Religion is based on faith in things that can't be proven. This is about leaving physical evidence behind, not whether Shiva is real. The key word is "physical".

You think if there were prior technologically advanced societies, that they only would have only existed in places now under the ocean's and in mythology and fiction?

Funny thing about physical evidence is, it can be shown, handled and studied. It either exists or it does not.

Yes.

Pompei. Herculanum (sp?). Essentially, these were on ground zero of a volcano...yet there they are to be found, and marveled at today. Well over a thousand years, and more, later. Preserved by the very thing that destroyed them.

The Vedic texts mention more than just religion. They mention history, the use of weapons like the atomic bomb and how people were burning from radiation and not flames even when they threw themselves into rivers, the use of missiles, ufos, etc.

Troy was once thought to be a "myth," until a visionary followed the directions in the Illiad and found Troy.

The Man Who Found The Ancient Greek City of Troy

Heck, who could have thought that a Hobbit race with large feet actually existed? Which Tolkien took from ancient stories from ancient cultures and were thought to be just myth. Many ancient cultures also talk about these diminutive humanoids with large feet.

Abstract

Homo floresiensis is an endemic hominin species that occupied Liang Bua, a limestone cave on Flores in eastern Indonesia, during the Late Pleistocene epoch. The skeleton of the type specimen (LB1) of H. floresiensis includes a relatively complete left foot and parts of the right foot. These feet provide insights into the evolution of bipedalism and, together with the rest of the skeleton, have implications for hominin dispersal events into Asia. Here we show that LB1's foot is exceptionally long relative to the femur and tibia, proportions never before documented in hominins but seen in some African apes. Although the metatarsal robusticity sequence is human-like and the hallux is fully adducted, other intrinsic proportions and pedal features are more ape-like. The postcranial anatomy of H. floresiensis is that of a biped, but the unique lower-limb proportions and surprising combination of derived and primitive pedal morphologies suggest kinematic and biomechanical differences from modern human gait. Therefore, LB1 offers the most complete glimpse of a bipedal hominin foot that lacks the full suite of derived features characteristic of modern humans and whose mosaic design may be primitive for the genus Homo. These new findings raise the possibility that the ancestor of H. floresiensis was not Homo erectus but instead some other, more primitive, hominin whose dispersal into southeast Asia is still undocumented.

Myth is often times based on at least some truth.
