WHY-
For Refusal to Provide Medicaid Coverage for Gender Reassignment Surgeries

This is pure insanity and goes to show you just how deep the social/political fault lines are in America now.
So a Blue state is not just content do make their own laws they want to punish Red States that don't think like them now.
Where does this idiocy end......If this doesn't end soon America is headed for either separation or civil war.

California added an eleventh state to its travel blacklist on Friday, banning state-sponsored travel to Iowa over that state’s refusal to cover gender-transition surgeries under its Medicaid program.California attorney general Xavier Becerra announced the decision to add Iowa to the travel-ban list, which takes effect October 4 and means public employees and college students will not be able to travel to Iowa on the taxpayer’s dime.

We could just make California its own nation and put part of Trumps wall along their border separating them from the rest of the country. I'd be interested to see how long they last.

Think of it as 11 states that don’t have to put up with California ‘s stupidity.

No doctor or state should be bullied into approving gender assignment surgeries. These surgeries are not necessary, most of the people getting them will not do better in their lives, it is mostly a lie that is being spread that changing your sex will help these people. I only know two people that went through this and sure they were excited at first, but within a year, they were back where they were before they had the sex change. Except of course, many thousands of dollars poorer.

Medicaid should not be paying for sex change surgery. Most people's health insurances won't pay for that surgery, why should medicaid pay for it.

The only people truly being hurt are those paying the taxes, those paying California university system tuition as sports teams must travel to the various states they banned for decisions made for their state, their taxes, and according to their rights. They don't respect anyone else's rights but wish to force their beliefs on everyone else, sounds like fascism and tyranny to me but that's just my belief. Now the kids involved in sports have to raise additional funding from private sources to compete and that's in addition to the taxes and tuition they already pay.

No , the Better Solution would be for the Trump Administration to Declare California a " Rebel State " Already , then send Federal U.S. Military Troops there to RESTORE Order . Thats a fantastic idea; more states should disallow state funded travel to other states; in the day of telecommuting not many people need to bill the tax payer to travel for business.

I really don't think they hurt any Iowans feelings on that decision.

Just out of curiosity why is Iowa choosing not to spend taxpayer monies on the gender gender blender stupid? I'm having a hard time seeing the issue. I'd be PO'd if my tax dollars were spent on that instead of feeding the homeless, providing Medicare for someone truly indigent, paving the roads so emergency services have adequate transport surfaces or nearly anything else that is actually a need instead of a want.

My family is from Iowa. I spent a good part of my life on a hog farm in Iowa. You work or you just move along . If you have a problem with what you are, not their problem. LOL !

Honestly, does anyone give a damn what California thinks about anything other than people who live in California? I'm not even so sure Californians care any more- pretty much anyone who can afford to leave (other than Hollywood idiots) are migrating to Texas as fast as they can.

Pretty sure when the big one hits and most of California falls into the Pacific not many in the rest of the country will even care.
