This fact is what is behind all the fear.
America is becoming less white as we speak.

There was a time when in some states the black population was greater than the white population.
This set up the need for very strict rules about educating slaves. They knew that they were outnumbered and an educated black population would lead to an uprising and revolt they could not stop.

Remember Nate Turner and that uprising in the history books?

That was the fear then.

Now its just breeding that scares them.
