Till now, i thought declassified means privy to public release. Then again, can think of volumes of declassified docs I've seen on desks over the years that are just all blotted out in thick black lines over all the text so u can't read anything.

So the lawyer was given the privilege of seeing classified information. That doesn't mean it was declassified.

Then again, seems like a beautiful way to find out who certain leakers are. There are millions of names that could be leaked to "top officials"
