House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) Said he does not think the Bill of Right would pass in today’s climate.

Translation:

Democrats would fight against the Bill of Rights

The sad scary part is, I don’t think he’s pandering here, I think he believes this. I don’t know how he would vote on the Bill of Rights, I am guessing he would vote with his democratic base and vote no.

What say you....

I read this yesterday and just shook my head. The Democrats are right back to where they were before the Civil Rights Movement. Full of hate and the wish to segregate. The sad part is that the democrats and black people that fought so hard to end segregation and racism are now the ultimate peddler of both.

I doubt any democrat would vote yes on the second amendment.

I see the problem here...its the lack of education. Only 37% can even name one ammendment. When you dont know your rights...they are easy to take away. Bring back skoolhouse rocks man....our kids are being dealt a bad hand.

If the Bill of Rights were to be passed today. . . .

It'd be 8,547 pages long
Filled with porkbarrel exclusions
Protect the government

And not guarantee a single right for American citizens

Here's another good one:

Obama told us how they think about the COTUS. It's a charter of negative liberties. It only tells us what the government may not do, not what it can. So, of course, they wouldn't pass it. Why pass restrictions on their power?

You folks do recall that Obama was a so-called constitutional scholar, right?

Clyburn specifically mentioned opposition to the 2nd and 1st amendment

This is a startling admission

Many dem supporters want to take away you most basic rights; your right to free speech and thought, and your right to defense

They are already laying the ground work by being against so much of what the constitution says, such as the electoral college

Its becoming a crisis: if the Dems don’t agree with the foundational ideas of this country, and the routinely tell us how evil and racist the country is, what do they believe brings us together?

I think he's right. The Dems would want to remove freedom of religion, and these days they don't believe in freedom of speech either. They also don't believe in a free press, as evinced by how they treat conservative media.

And the second amendment would be a total non-starter.

And without the first two, the rest don't matter because they can be taken away and no one can do anything about it.

To say nothing of all the "rights" that they would love to add ... See Roosevelt's second bill of rights.

Most of the Democrats' financial support comes from a handful of oligarchs, such as Mark Zukerberg and George Soros. They hardly even pretend to represent the average American anymore.

Oh, they'd be kind. They'd replace freedom of religion with freedom to worship. Of course, there is a huge difference there, but most people won't think that far.

A lot of what they want to do with Climate Change requires removal of private property protections too.

Democrats took an oath to protect these things when they were elected and every single one of them fight it. If you don't fight to protect the BoR, you should be impeached or forced to resign. You're an enemy of America and everything she stands for.

Democrats didn't fight to end racism, their platforms in the 60's were running against Civil Rights. Blacks who fought this were Republican and the Republican party pushed Civil Rights.

I remember as a kid back in the late 70's waking up on Cartoon Day and starting with Pink Panther. Then Loony Toons would come on and nearly every commercial break, School House Rock would play something. THen Justice Leage Came on and the same thing happened. School House Rock on every commercial break.

Just for some Nostalgia...

MEANWHILE back at the Hall of Justice!

Damn right. Slavery was ended by Republicans. Civil rights was pushed by Republicans. Democrats pushed the KKK in response to both movements.

I never have understood what blacks see in the Democratic party.

You are absolutely right. I stand corrected. I forgot some important history in the heat of posting. I should have said the democrats who CLAIMED to be for civil rights are now the ones who push to end them.
