How to get an avatar?

I want to be able to use an uploaded pic as an avatar but regardless of its size, when I click submit after copy and pasting the address for the image from my uploads, it just refreshes the page with no avatar. Is it unlocked after an amount of posts? I thought size might have been the problem so I found a 100x100 jpg to try and it doesn't work either.

If you then have found your avatar, click on the arrow that will show you the second menu bar.
Go to uploads. Upload a picture and in the window that pops up, hover your mouse over the icons and wait a second. I think the second one from the right, if you click it, it makes it your avatar.

You can have a background, too.

On your uploaded pics press the one you want as avatar. It should pop up with some icons on the top. If you press the little head icon it will automatically make that uploaded pic your avatar.

A helpful trick for stuff like this that is hidden in the "Freshman forum"...

Go to any thread that handles the topic you need help and browse to the last page. There is ALWAYS someone who dropped the link to the correct and up-to-date there. It is amazing.

As for background I played with the RGB until it matched on my screen but it probably looks different on other screens.

Don't you wish there was an option to delete your own topics? Lol

It helps others who maybe having difficulty when it stays up. Your new avatar looks awesome by the way .👍🏼

Lol... ONE AWESOME LIFE HACK YOU WON'T REGRET.

1: Start your thread.
2: Use a soldering iron to make your point.
3: Use too much hot glue logic, ruin thread.
4: Argue with everyone over typos, ad hominem attack everyone, use straw man arguments, get some participants to swear a lot, usually with the ! as their get away free card, troll your own thread.
5: Mod comes along and baleets thread.

I've seen more than one go that way!

Ah thanks to everyone and op for asking this. I haven't changed my avatar in like 5 million years and couldn't remember how to do it.

Does that one thread still exist where that user was making custom avatars for members? That thread was absolutely huge and super active back in the day.
