Just two days ago I wrote about this being my favorite place / second home. I hope the people are safe!

No reports of casualties or injuries. Airtraffic is at code red and planes are being rerouted.

It's been unstable since July with a number of small erupsions but yesterday was a big one..

Beautiful island and I understand it is your favorite place.

I sailed past Stromboli at night in June and saw a tiny eruption, it was absolutely amazing! I can imagine what seeing this must have been like! Just wow...

My grandmother's family was from Sicily.Is that where King Louey was? I had an ancestor that came from Albania as a mercenary, and served the king as Lieutenant commander. I think that guy was really glad he didn't skip the maintenance check on his engine.
