Merkel upset with Trump

Murky has been upset with Trump since it became clear he was not impressed with virtue-signaling as a substitute for genuine leadership. That the German political establishment cannot (or is unwilling to) find anyone to replace her as chancellor is a telling sign regarding the state of German democracy. Germany is in deep trouble, but the way its society operates prevents any open discussion of the issues at the national level.
