Where have you been working since the 80s with no growth in your career?

I have recieved numerous raises over the last 18 years of employment. My bosses are very rich, but they also have been taking care of me very well!

Bring that bs to another thread where it is relevant. Maybe, Socialism Rules!

Lolz🤪

Until my 30s I had roommates ate mac and cheese etc, bought my first house at the age of 40 and today at 58 I live quite well. Large house, drive M4 BMW, kids in college that I mostly pay for etc... I'm not bragging but people don't realize the time involved to get a head many times.

Times can be tough. I can agree to that. But someone to say that since the 80s they have not been able to get ahead due to government policy?
Dawn star said it. That is what I was referring too.

You would Think he was the Second Coming of David or Something . Oh , wait.............

That part struck me as odd too. The short reading I did on the gentleman who originally quoted it used to be Jewish before becoming an evangelical Christian. But this was a poor analogy since Jews don't believe there was ever a coming in the first place.

Between the notable things on his Wikipedia page, he looks to be someone who says what sells, and some of his claims are more outlandish IMO.

Why the hell Trump would ever quote him is beyond me.

The tricky part is I can't confidently gauge someone unless I meet them and spend some time with them. I can't tell where his showmanship begins and ends, and where his true self fills the voids.

I as well prefer this person to person connection before making assessments of another persons character and this is one of the reasons I am hesitant to judge others by either reputation or second hand observation. However, you know there had to be a however huh, coming from a family of actors and entertainers I have been raised to appreciate the skill with which they can bend from their regular natures and promote the false image needed for the job at hand. Observing Trump from that perspective leads me to one of two conclusions. One, he is a remarkable actor, playing, as some here believe, a roll of clown in a 5 D game of foolery or he is, very much as he appears to be in my evaluation of him posted above.

He is at least one thing for sure. The most observed president ever. He insists on it. With the plethora of recording devices we have now, even way more than ten years ago, with his constant helicopter interviews, his regular rallies where he presents not only his pledges for the nation but a prolonged standing comic routine and his constant tweets I think it behooves us to forgo our person to person evaluations and instead, evaluate him on the public persona he presents daily.

If that persona is only a sham then I must ask myself, why, why is he playing the fool, the sluggard, the self centered narcissist rather than a noble statesman. Even when he does try to present the image of an honest statesman, he most often fails miserably. If it is as some here believe that he is just trolling the Democrats, then that is a very very low bar for the leader of the nation, one which , it is my belief, we need to put out of office. But again, on the other hand if it is all just to real, then we need to do that as soon as we can.

I don't think so.

But I'm not sold he's the worse ever either.

I think he's mediocre, but that's based on my priorities and opinions of what I think this country needs first.

I'm going to have to think on that Terry... And I think you offer a lot with that assessment.

Thank you for truly discussing. One thing I've noticed about you is you're convicted. You know what you believe enough to honestly say it in a calm collected way without caring what people will say about it. And when presented with a sensible response, you listen. This is where I'm trying to get, and I hope that others can get there too.

Cheers

I've never understood the fence analogy. It implies there are two options, and not to pick one means you're afraid of conflict and don't know what you stand for.

The two options are the same. Both are wheels spinning grid lock. The only consultation prizes are scraps and bragging rights when your team is batting. I admire many who I can tell truly believe in their ideology, and attempt to be honest about.

But I'm not a fence sitter. I'm someone who's beliefs are different. Liberty above all, fiscal responsibility, and a foreign projection that falls in line with its constitutional mandates. Both sides fail to satisfy me in those areas...though each side is adequate at towing the line to appease most of their base.

I would bet the Zionists think so.

While on the whole, I think it's fine that he can communicate with the public through twitter. Surely he could find something more productive to do then send out some of these ridiculous tweets.

Has there ever even been a politician who is more boastful than Trump?

Sorry, but Obama is the most boastful president I think ever...Who else refers to himself 453 times in a 5 minute speech...

That is amazing!

- Firstly that someone was anile enough to count.

- Secondly that simple math says that there would have to be a self reference every 0.66 seconds. When could someone even fit in speech in that time?

(I'll just call it BS propaganda, then).

I disagree... it is all political at that level, religion gets a back seat. Religion is almost completely at the lower levels with local churches and its parishioners, after that it gets more and more political as you go up the food chain of command to the point it is 100% political.

Separation of powers From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, as in, we are supposed to have a separation of Church & State in our countries.

Well, Obama doesn't put his name on buildings and merchandise in quite the same volumes and also doesn't refer to himself in the third person.

Well he did address his full cabinet and told them he could do each of their jobs better than they could.

Can you provide a source please, or is this like the alleged 5 minute speech with 453 self references?

I believe it is all about the evangelical vote, they are rabid with thoughts of the rapture, and the 2nd coming, they are ready to "go home" as they say. Trump is appealing to them for a vote. I find that appalling. But as I live in the Bible Belt myself, I can attest this is the current mood in the churches. So he has 2 solid voting bases.
