1) the Estate likely has a HUGE Civil case against the facility if logs were faked and procedures ignored resulting in JE suicide.

2) showing/proving possible “murder” in a civil proceeding is much easier than criminal court.

The victims will want to get in on that action since it will pad the coffers of the estate.

If it's a USA-based insurance company, their life policies have to pay full death benefit, after it's been in effect for at least 2 years. (A law that went into effect during World War II, because insurance companies were cheating widows/families.)

Defense attorney Dershowitz said it best on Fox News yesterday:

1. Epstein's defense attorneys demanded that the Prison take Epstein off of suicide watch.

2. The prison reluctantly complied.

3. Epstein then kills himself.

4. His Defense Attorneys now feel terrible/guilty, and look like fools and enablers.

Well if his lawyer represented anybody that had life insurance and was a Epstein beneficiary of coarse he would be pissed and want it to not be suicide.

My guess would be that it would look good as a defense attorney to fight for your victim if you felt their death was neglegent.

That would be my first course of action if I too represented a "suicidal" person, whom I let off of suicide watch, and later committed suicide.

I'd also do this too, if I had a hand in my hypothetical client's murder..

Attorneys Martin Weinberg, Reid Weingarten and Michael Miller said in a statement that it is “indisputable that the authorities violated their own protocols” at the federal lockup.

They say they’ll conduct their own probe and get court help, if necessary, to see “pivotal videos.”
