NASA Marshall Spaceflight Center in Huntsville Alabama is giving away a
Saturn 1 Block 1 booster - as long as one has the $ 250,000 to haul it away

This is Block 1 , without the stabilizing fins of the later modules

The Saturn 1 was used to launch early model test capsules for the Apollo
program

The Saturn 1B variant was used to launch the APOLLO 7 and the crew modules for the SKYLAB project

I think the postage to England would be too prohibitive for me to get it but I'd love to see the look on my neighbors faces with it sat in my garden , I'd probably turn it into a water feature.

Problem is after you pay for the referb you've got to refuel it.

Dibs!

I need a delivery vehicle for my nuclear warhead. I'll teach Boston to ticket me for double parking.

That can't be it, it's got the fins. Is this the engine or the entire first stage that's for sale? I would think just the engine at 250k.

This is the first stage SATURN 1 booster , S1C. There are cluster of 8 H2 engines from Von Braun JUPITER Intermediate rage missile

In fact Von Braun cobbled together parts from REDSTONE and JUPITER missiles Used 8 REDSTONE fuel tanks to hold
Kerosene (RP 1) fuel, In center was tank from JUPITER for liquid Oxygen (LOX)

The 8 H2 engines were arranged in pattern with 4 fixed engines in square pattern in center. At each corner was a H2
gimbaled for steering

SATURN 1 in both its SATURN 1/1B configurations proved to have 100 % record including early tests of first stage only

This is NASA equivalent of puttting old couch out on the curb with sign saying FREE STUFF

Again would like see someone refurb and launch it (Jeff Bezos R U listening? )

Would need upper stage to reach orbit

Actually was a study to launch modified Gemini in circumlunar around the moon flight using a 3 stage SATURN 1

Was dropped as unnecessary and impediment to APOLLO
