Globalist corporations have pushed the US' leaders towards global conformity. Simple as that.

And yeah, I agree with you, the abdication of the Christian God in our system has lead us down a dark, evil path which we see manifested daily in the form of nonsense like ANTIFA, accepting and normalizing of the profane and grotesque, and celebration of sinful self glorification.

"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." 1 Timothy 6:10.

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (riches)." Matthew 6:24.

Consider who you serve and elevate.

They are today the party of Greed.

One would think - - the most evolved (supposedly) species on earth would have evolved beyond the animalistic instinct/behavior of survival of the fittest.

One would think.

There are many extremely wealthy Democrats these days, including the richest person in the world, Jeff Bezos. Other liberal tycoons: Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Michael Bloomberg. All of these fine anti-Trump liberals are currently among the 12 wealthiest people in the world. All are wealthier than any conservative.

But those are the good Oligarchs. Don't you know the difference?

Come on Goth. Mr, History buff. Tell me where i did not post the truth about that time.
Can you? I think not. Come on prove me wrong instead of just spouting off like that. Come on , come on, I'm ready.

You say seems like some folk just post whatever they want to. So OK then tell me where I am wrong or I will just consider you one of those people you just mentioned. Come on Goth, back up your accusations.

So what's the point of your post? You left the democratic party and identify as what exactly? Politically speaking that is.

BTW...just because people acquire material possessions does not make them become right leaning. There are plenty of exceptionally wealthy people who are as far left as they come. Not sure where you got that bit of nonsense.

You also quoted the person in your link as making this statement "I have been given nothing by our government".

There is the real issue right there. The fact a person expects to be GIVEN something. That is the key differentiator between a person who is a left leaning versus someone who is not.

Please don't claim to be libertarian because you are not. I definitely know you don't identify as a republican. You sound more like a democrat who has become disenchanted with their party because .... drum roll....they lied to you.

They're politicians. It's what they matter what side of the isle they sit on.

I was never a member of the dem party, and to this day I have not become a formal member of any party.
I am not disenchanted with dems...I am disgusted with them, they seem to have lost their way.
I do not believe in a socialist lifestyle/agenda/political system.

Too many Repubs seem to be globalists, or they are too quiet these days....there should be more outrage.

Lying to the citizens is one thing...and btw, politicians do not have the market cornered with lying.....educators, entertainers, healers....many people lie. Humans are quite good at it,actually.

Interesting that you feel you can determine a person's beliefs by a few posts.
I also cannot judge the person who wrote the article.

Your first 3 sentences in your OP make it pretty clear:

"I was quite the liberal in my youth. I even worked on a Campaign for a Democratic candidate. Nixon was the evil Satan."

I'm certainly not jumping to any conclusions with my determinations. You make it quite clear. Even your thread title insinuates you were once a democrat.

Just because you haven't officially become a member of any party doesn't mean you don't hold or lean towards a political ideology. Clearly you lean left. And that's fine if you do. Just don't start telling those of us who understand politics, how politics works and / or what it's purpose is and expect to have credibility because you are making incorrect statements.

Have you ever voted in a presidential election?

The title is a paraphrase from the source.
Over several decades, I have voted in many presidential elections.

This thread isn't even about me, but you obviously don't know me or my politics.

Good day to you.....

Heck, even dairy farms shut down.

How is it possible for any real America to be part of anything liberal Democrat today?

Their ideas are radical and dangerous.

If you are liberal with your money, you go broke.

If you are liberal with your sexuality, you are open for disease

People who conserve their money do better

Dont be liberal with anything

Both left and right have been bought. Prove to me it hasn't...….Corporations and lobbyists have bought and paid for our legislators and representatives....Big pharma, fossil fuels, and all the JP Morgan Chase to Dupont...etc etc...and etc.... the list goes on and on......and on...…..BIG CORPORATIONS. These people and lobbyists eventually get themselves elected and if you are not a part of the *club* you are nothing....This is really the problem of our country. Rich keep getting richer. I keep getting poorer. I don't want anyone to give up theirs to give to me, but dammit I am a citizen and I want my kids to have a fair future to compete. I want my kids to be able to go swimming with their dog in a lake and not worry about the contamination. I want to drink water and not worry about corrosion issues at treatment plants and suffer brain damage from lead poisoning. I want to not worry about the food I eat causing cancer because its been sprayed too much with poisons......I want my kids to feel safe at schools but allowing security guards and teachers to carry in schools is not the answer either. Its a pretend bandaid that gives a false sense of security. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MY GUNS TOO, but this crap has to stop somehow!!! I do not want to give up my 2nd amendment but damn if my kids school hadn't closed twice last year because of kids getting them and bringing them to school.

Our country is so large that we need social programs. We need our infrastructure, we need our doctors and nurses and hospitals. We need our police forces and firefighters. We need our public schools, although it sucks because soooo much money has been taken out of it and given to private companies which private is NOT always a good thing because it leaves soooo many people out. Oh and lets not talk about PRISONS FOR PROFIT!!!!

The reality is, we live in a dystopian society and it totally sucks. Left nor right can fix this because THEY ARE ALL THE PROBLEM. What we are witnessing is the slow to quick death of our republic and the end of the American Dream.....

I AM NOT A DEMOCRAT or LIBERTARIAN OR REPUBLICAN!! I AM AMERICAN and I don't know what party I affiliate with anymore. I am not gay or anti LGBT, I am not religious, I love my guns, I want clean air and water, I want food to be healthy, I want to drive over a bridge and not worry, I want my kids to not get into debt getting a degree then be unable to get a job because they are over qualified. I want to feel safe in my old age and not worry about my nest egg being gone because of corruption...….so you tell me ATS, who is looking out for me and others just like me? Nobody, that's who......Extremism in any fashion is wrong. Left or right.....Ideologies of extremism is the root of all evils....and yes both sides proving to be extremists....

and here on ATS, extremism has become quite prevalent I have noticed over the last 7 years...people talk to talk, and voice their opinions and knock anyone down just to be trolls and bullies....its so disheartening, and sad. To those of us who are old school ATS...what say you?

End rant, Have a Nice Day.....oh and Epsteins autopsy report came back....I wonder if he was Democrat or Republican.

I won't be Ron Paul 2.0 even though I'll probably get called that but I'll just be Muzzleflash the Libertarian Constitutionalist that isn't afraid to speak the Truth to power.

I have all the talents and skills necessary and am aggressive and witty enough to thrash all the opposition and the fake news - but I need ATS to serve as my cabinet and advisory board.

Yall are going to help keep making America greater and greater right???
Than let's go take the White House where we belong!!
Wooohooo!!!'ve got my vote...funny...I've always called myself a Constitutional Libertarian...

We Libertarian Constitutionalists...and Constitutional Libertarians...have got to stick together...

Time to roll the sleeves up...and "Git-Er-Done"...

(I don't need a yuge office or titular holdings...a smallish office by the watercooler is fine)

This thread isn't even about me,

You reference yourself in the OP directly 5 times and indirectly twice. If it's not about you and /or your disdain for the current state of the democratic party then what exactly is the point of your thread? This was the very first question I rightfully asked in my reply to your OP.

but you obviously don't know me or my politics.

You make it very clear you were a democrat and became disenchanted over various reasons. But if you genuinely believe your statement above then it's YOU who doesn't know what YOUR politics are. Which is why none of what you are saying makes any sense. If you want to get upset because I'm wondering what the point of your thread is then why post it to begin with?

Was not that pensions act actually signed in by congress?

It was enacted by Congress, but they don't 'sign' anything. It is signed (or ignored, or vetoed) by the President.

Was it not the case the reasons for the plan was that the current pension concepts of the time were basically unobtainable, and not anything much to do with government, but more to do with pretty corrupt or incompetent marketeers?

It was due to corruption, almost certainly - corruption in the form of the Teamsters union bosses and their government pals.

What I would really like to see, is the abolition of all public sector (government) pensions and unions.

I can dream...

And the billionaire President is just a man of the people?

Possibly - the jury is still out, he could be a deep state plant...

Where do these very few who are very wealthy, get their money from?

Politicians? Theft (with maybe some very rare exceptions).

Business people? They generally earn it (with some caveats)...

My hope is, one day, we will get a good, strong Libertarian candidate. And that people will feel ready to shun both Democrat and Republican parties.

Already missed our chance on that...

Ron Paul was likely the best we'll ever see.

I think our current President is doing an awesome job, in the long run.

Agree for the most part.

yes, it is disheartening and sad....

How about gutting the Endangered Species Act yesterday,

Seeing as how that act has been abused to essentially take private property without just compensation in order to protect some bizarre beetle or tiny fish, or declaring some small pond on private party as 'wetlands', depriving the owner of their Right to do what they will with their property... that could be a very good thing.

It all depends on what actual changes were made.

Care to point to the actual, specific changes that you have a problem with (with links/supporting evidence)?

and the dismantling of the EPA.

Could very well be another very good thing, since they overstep their authority all the time too.

pure greed moves. Who cares what we leave to our kids. As long as oil and mining barons can squeeze more out an already decimated land.

Fear-monger much?

Both parties have some form of greed as a defect.

It was a Republican government that signed in the anti-constitutional Homeland Security stuff and gave the NSA rights to spy on ALL citizens. I think it was even a Republican government who signed the espionage act in, to prevent freedom of the press.

On this we agree - regardless of which party was in power when this all happened, they both supported it.
