I hope you’re doing better. Are they certain you didn’t have a mild heart attack or pneumonia? Reason being I’ve been dealing with your exact symptoms for the last ten months. I had a heart attack in November and got pneumonia two weeks later, it’s been a daily battle since. I had fluid in lung and around organs, swollen abdomen, swollen legs and feet, a major shortness of breathe, kidney numbers were not great either. I assume they have you on Lasix?

Anyways wishing you the best and hope it clears up for you.

Just had an elephant needle to remove a sample of fluid in my abdomen. That was an odd and unsettling experience.

Upping lasix from 40mg to 80 in the morning ... heart has not been ruled out and am expecting a cardio Dr. visit soon.


Meantime Linda has ended up back in hospital ( 10 mins up the road ) her sister is with her and it does not seem too serious ...

She has been skipping meds. ( silly girl !! ) One of which is an anti-seizure med, among others.

They did a CT scan which was OK and are doing an ECG and MRI which may show more.

She is back under care and future carers will be under strict guidance ... thanks for the concern.

Well ... after much poking, prodding and being exposed to intimidating looking machinery and needles, lots, of needles, it seems my heart is at fault.

I am assured that with lifestyle changes, meds etc.
I will bounce back and be able to annoy all at ATS for some time yet to come !

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

I am humbled again by the quality of good people on ATS !
