The liberal left, the democratic left, in the United States doesn't care about gun control. Their propaganda masters at the MSM tell them they should, but they don't.

Given the choice between gun rights and things like "abortion", "health care" and personal rights/privacy, LGBT agenda...they would abandon the whole "gun rights/2nd Amendment" discussion like a hot rock! The reality is...many of the gay community are more conservative than most right wingers. They want less government over their lives. I know from personal experience as my nephew and his 'husband' are both State Troopers, and military vets!

The shooting in El Paso is a tragedy by any definition. May the Lord rest their souls. At the same time, I find it very telling the left leaning politicians wasted no time in making this a political platform. How curious, right? Or...is it? Does it fit their narrative....

White male, Trump, "assault weapon", Trump, white male, "High capacity magazine", "Trump", "disgruntled", "White Male", "Gun", "Trump", DEATH, White male", "Gun, gun...GUN!!! DEATH, BLOOD, White male, TRUMP...GUN!!!!!"

The reality is, the MSM is trying to spin all of us this way, to drive a wedge between us, to make us all "HATE"...because it's "drama" and it sells commercials/advertisements...which are their life blood! With no drama, they have nothing. They have no advertising revenue...and you think they speak the truth?????????????????

No. You are wrong. I read no further but this statement is not true. Stupid crazy people are killing innocent people left and right with weapons of war, weapons that those who wrote the Constitution over two hundred years ago who for all their intelligence could not have envisioned in their wildest fantasies.

These people who in your first two sentences are written off as nothing more than victims of propaganda are thinking, feeling and concerned citizens. They know that innocent children are being killed by mad men who are allowed to roam our streets with these murderous weapons just so those who are afraid that their precious little fire arms will not be taken away.
They don't need anyone to tell them something is wrong, they know it by themselves.

I'm far left. I don't care if people own guns.

Although I did hear a parent of a Sandy Hook victim say guns should have liability insurance because if his kid was killed by a car at least he would have go money to cover funeral. It's kind of a good argument.

But I guess as long as militias can carry guns everything is okay!

The writers of the Constitution knew, that a population could never be truly free from a tyrannical government, if they have to fear that government... THAT is what the 2nd amendment is all about.

This government still fears the American people. That fear keeps us free.

Banning guns... that's when psychopathic nutjobs start using explosives. Buying guns in Middle Eastern countries... difficult. Blowing up buildings, public squares and killing civilians by the hundreds... that is easy. That is gun control.

The loss of life is tragic, but that gun did not shoot itself. This is a societal problem. This is what happens, when morality is tossed aside, in the name of progress.

Violent acts like these... the media glamorizes them, because it gets them ratings... which gets them advertisers, and money. If they can use it to press their agenda, well that's even better.

Venezuelans certainly wish they had their guns back. Freedom dies, when governments run unchecked.

If you don't like private gun ownership, maybe you should leave for someplace peaceful and gun free. China, North Korea, Venezuela, Chicago or Baltimore would suit you just fine.

ETA: My "spidey senses" tell me, that ANTIFA has a hand in this. El Paso was declared a target, and now this... by a rich kid from Allen, TX. This reeks of domestic terrorism, to press a socialist agenda. I think that there is still a lot left to play out, on this...

I own guns. Believe it or not, it's up to you. But please read back to me where in either of my posts that I took any stance on the issue of of gun ownership. What I spoke to was OPs promotion of the same old hack that anti gun proponents are brainwashed victims of mass media, that they have no minds of their own and only dislike the gun culture of the US because they are told to.

The writers of the Constitution knew, that a population could never be truly free from a tyrannical government, if they have to fear that government... THAT is what the 2nd amendment is all about.

This notion , that our guns are going to protect us from loosing our freedom from government over-reach is chimeric.
We are a race of people who are speeding so quickly into a future that hardly any of us can even begin to glimpse that the methods of control and and subjugation do not need to utilize the confiscation of projectile weaponry. These weapons that so many are staunchly defending might as well be sling shots compared to even what we know some of this new tech weaponry is let alone the stuff that we do not even have wind of yet.

All military members (I am retired) take an oath to defend the Constitution, NOT the government. Remind them of that; I certainly do.

I think you would be hard pressed, to find American NCOs or Officers willing to use that kind of force on American civilians.

Obama purged many good Officers, and NCOs. I witnessed it. You either pledged fealty, or you retired. (Mine was medical... I retired on my own terms.)

He did not get them all.
