Limonene, a chemical in lemons and citrus, can cause problems when you go out into the sun after consuming it. It is better to have any citrus at night, our bodies can fix the issue, but it takes a few hours to do so. I suppose you could douse yourself with sunscreen. There is also a little coumarin in lemons I think, that doesn't go well with sun either. There are way more furocoumerins in grapefruit and some oranges than in lemons I think. Eat the veggies at night, some veggies contain that sun sensitive chemistry too. If you just work at an office, who cares, I and lots of the people I know worked outside in the sun a lot.

*picks up ketchup....opens top...holds over steak*

*Pause, looks at Gravelbone.......squeezes more ketchup on fillet....*

Monster. I've already contacted the authorities.
You will pay, somehow, for this brazen catastrophe.
The God of Steak demands it!
A curse upon your grill!

I actually don't drink, but when I did and worked at a very large bar, it wasn't bad after a 12 hour shift in the summer. Typically, it was Jameson straight up.
But I no longer booze. Clouds my vision.

oranges.
That is the next one to come.

really though, a absolutely tiny amount of lemon or lime on meat is good. but it should not be enough to taste it, as its only purpose is to slightly tenderize the meat, as the acid breaks down some of the protein chains.

Then you have sloppy chefs who decide to overdo it, then call it "lemon chicken" or what ever.

ugg, If I wanted fruit when I ordered a steak i would have ordered it.

I do not have a particularly strong opinion on lemons but that said, the history of my life is practically devoid of me going out of my way to indulge in lemonry so I guess I am not big on them. I enjoy a citrus tinge to things but I am not really keen on just eating (for example) a whole orange. Or just peeling a lemon and eating it that way.

Lemon does not belong on food!

Isn't your wife a chef? One of things you're taught in culinary school is that a splash of acid; citrus juice, vinegar, ect, can elevate a flat dish.

Food goes in trends you know.
