It's a one-pie mentality. They haven't figured out how to bake their own pie.

As far as they view economics, it's either they steal or others steal from them.

People have failed in good economies.

Be responsible for your own success.

No one since the depression has had the dollar devalued so much, and COLI increased as much. That turned out great, right? With only 15 million in population people starved to death, leading to even West African countries donating to America.

$56,000 is the average household income in the US. The average individual income in the US is $31,000.

If you take the respondent in the article as low/middle class example, like they claim they are, their dual incomes (AKA household income) are under 20k.

Big difference between saying its # that 50 million of your fellow Americans are in abject poverty, and that's just the down and out not even considering the working poor and saying those that are successful should give up what the have for the greater good.

I thought we were talking about how great the economy is, fair to say the economy is not good for a good chunk of the population and that's crap and really nothing to be proud of.

Rich people suck, our economy sucks, life isn't fair, and personal responsibility is stupid.

I forget sometimes that people on here pretend to be dumb as dirt as a form of competitive argument, dbcow. What I was clearly saying, that you missed apparently, is that we are all subject to external forces very much out of our control. Some subtle and some overt. For some it will be a bomb falling out of a sky, being born to rich parents, or a lottery ticket. For others it will be societally censored sexuality, an economy of corruption and graft, or a genetic coding that makes one unable to process certain proteins. Or, apparently, reading comprehension.
