Factually? No. It’s a market that’s controlled and manipulated from the top down. We have subsidies and tariffs, economic controls and no bid contracts. We allow monopolies, and have a regressive de facto tax rate. We arrest the heads of competitor companies and try to get their products banned. They overthrow governments to keep wages down. All this is the opposite of the “free market” that capitalists claim to revere. Incidentally it’s exactly the way I expect pure capitalism would go through on its way to collapse.
