Well if you can't beat Trump legally, make it illegal.

"It was disappointing for a lot of people not to be able to have confidence that a major presidential candidate, and ultimately the president, didn't have financial conflicts of interest," California State Sen. Scott Wiener told CBS News. Wiener authored the bill with fellow state Sen. Mike McGuire.

They were not concerned with the issue before Trump ran. lol.

Billed as the "Presidential Tax Transparency and Accountability Act," the law would demand that presidential candidates disclose five years of federal tax returns, in order to be listed on the state's primary election ballot.

Hmmm. I wonder if this could cause Cali not to be included in the voting process for President? I think the SCOTUS will not allow it.

These idiots have never heard of the constitution.

Apparently California thinks it can apply conditions that are not found in the constitution.

They should be focused on the massive homeless and crap/needles in the streets problem they have rather than trying to subvert the constitution further.

Anti-Constitutional so it won’t go anywhere but typical of anti Americans who try to destroy the country.

Typical of Californians who will lose illegal voters and census count. I think Newsome is hoping for some investigations to be dragged out and a Dem elected so he will be saved.

when does cali fulfill their rhetoric of succession from the union? Do we build a wall between Cali and the rest of the country? Personal I'm all for that, no one is keeping Cali in the union except Cali.

Now let's watch all of them Dem candidates walk their allusions to be president backwards fast. Lol. If they have to give financial transparency, those criminals are in deep sh!t :-)

Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things? Not like Trump has any chance of winning California to begin with. If they took him off the ballot in the entire west coast it would change nothing.

This was my first thought as well. Trump doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of winning California come election time (or any time, for that matter)

Expect the other states that want to use the EC votes to go towards the popular vote winner, he may not win CA ever but keeping his name off the ballot is BS. If they do that then none of their votes should be counted period.

They shouldn't.
But.... I wonder how many justices on the SCOTUS are being blackmailed?

That would truly make my day to see. I want to see this tested by California and addressed by the SCOTUS.

Is Donald Trump being primaried? Last I heard he was running as an uncontested Republican incumbent. California's new statute only applies to primary candidates.

U.s. government...also known as us taxpayers..should stop sending money to California. Let them exist on their own.

They need to show me where the Constitution lists that requirement.

If you can’t win the game, “CHEAT”. That seems to sum up the philosophy of main stream democrats.
