Back in the 80s, I used to drive through Minnesota, North and South Dakota-summer and winter-the only seasons they have.

Moon scapes-North Dakota was the worst. You could even see the silos from the empty roads. And the food-ug. Dry slices of roast beef on white bread with brown gravy.

Bad enough for me to change professions.
