In the enchanted forest I listened to the gentle songs of birds. I wandered by crystal springs and open fields alive with colorful wildflowers. I walked over plush, deep green grass along my way. A gentle breeze caressed my skin as I breathed in the deep, cool, clean air. This is the Shedlands, a place far from the chaos of another realm...a place of solitude and wonder. Soon Autumn will be upon us and bring its own special magic., but for now, I shall wander in the dying days of Summer until another comes my way.

A Poem,

Ode to the Crows and the Warrior. (Please read slowly)

Hark! Hark!
The call of the crow.

Alas my carcass, cast upon the sullied soil.
cannot respond anymore.

The trembling, shivering betrays me.
Twisting, jerking,
compliments the movements caused by the wounds within this mess.

Fogged vision to my rightful side only.
Philippe! My friend.
Your shining armor reflects the light of the sun upon my exposed nature.
This otherwise disinterested form.

Poor poor brave Philippe.

At the very least,
those mangy black birds of reckoning will not partake of your protected sight.
Thy helm and visor fused by an arrow of thine enemy.

I gasp.
Effort prevents me from altering my stare.
Blackness upon my face.
Sound akin to the leading colors fluttering in our advance.
No trumpets, drums or pipes.
Just a frenzied sound accompanied by stabbing pain.
"Away you denizens of darkness!"

Too late,,,
The blackness is here, my eyes,
the last contact with nature are stolen.
And still the attackers forge through those cavities like an infection.
Deeper and deeper,
To carry away my very self.
Hark! Hark!

My soul will return.

My father's day poem written with the help of a dram of port or two,

Kind regards,

bally

Wow! That was great Bally, an unexpected surprise! I wish you would write more often! I forgot that Father's day was celebrated in a different month elsewhere in the world.

I miss my Dad, a loving, wonderful and humorous man. I have many amazing memories to hold onto.
To Dad's celebrating Father's day today...Happy Father's Day!

Your poem is very well-written and it made me think. I have to read it again at some point but now i am not in the mood. I read it this morning and the day has turned into evening, i have been cleaning up my apartment slowly. Just came back from the sauna.

Good evening Fin! Wonderful to see you as always. I'm still searching for my energy. Has anyone seen it anywhere?

I'm only on my first cup of coffee even though it's almost 2 in the afternoon. Lol

Just chillin' and listening to music. Found some old hair bands I haven't heard in a long time.

Glad you like the poem.

Miss my dad too. He was a kind and thoughtful man. Loved animals. Hope I can continue his legacy.

Kind regards,

Your Father raised a fine Son from what I can see.

Hey, how is it going on Venus, or Pluto, or Mars? I forgot where you ended up. My bad.

40 years anniversary? Congratulations! 40 years is quite the mill milestone. Absolutely well done! And Cake is always good. I bought cake today too, for the first time in years, a rare treat. A muffin. A special muffin. No I haven't eaten it yet, just in case.

I got some money (a nice chunk) from the taxman, so thought I should celebrate. I can now buy a new, non-half broken second-hand PC. It came in just at the right time. Anyway, enough about me, time for me to go to sleep and leave you alone to celebrate.

I'll just turn the lights down, the candles up, close the door, the windows and the curtains and just leave this here.

LOL! What, you think I'm married to a romantic?
Glad you got yourself a used PC. You are technically inclined so I'm sure you'll be able to fix the parts that parts that don't work.

I thought maybe he might be that way inclined. Once in a while, not too much. Then again, 40 years. LOL "Marge, get me a beer. Please."

My mother was a Barry White fan. She had a record, I did have to hear it once or twice. I thought this song was good because he doesn't sing. (Visuals were pretty good, yes I did watch it.) Not that he has a bad voice but it's totally not my kind of music but I can understand how people might like it. It has the wakka chikka guitar and no Barry. Barry was busy.

ETA PC's can be fixed, components can't. My components are broke. Several broken hard drives (one had a mfg date of 2002. Yeah.) and serious motherboard problems mean no fix possible and replacing components would be financially unviable for such aged equipment.
