Did POTUS Trump Really Say "Illegal children don't Need Toothbrushes, Soap, and Blankets"?

Children did have soap, toothbrushes, and blankets. It depended on how long they were going to be there. Democrats won't fund the crisis they have created, so supplies have to be managed based on need. Those there for short stays vs those there for longer stays.

Democrats are responsible for these problems, but the media helps them spin it so they keep doing it because they get political points out of the misery they cause.

If I do something wrong and had minor children with me, with no immediate family to care for them, they should just let me go or put the kids in jail with me ?

Tell me, when my kids were about 8 or 10, would it have been ok to take off a couple thousand miles across the U.S. , on foot, with little to no food, water, no toilet facilities, sleeping on the ground, in baking heat or freezing cold.
And If something happens to them, who is to blame ?
Must be all those folks who didn't stop and help, because it certainly couldn't be mine, right?

Here's an idea... Get your ass on an airplane, go down to the southern border, grab some kids, get your ass back on your airplane, fly back to your country, and then talk. If you don't want to do that, maybe we can arrange a cargo plane or 10 to bring all these children to your country. We have enough problems to take care of.

obama attempted to executive order our way out of it knowing it would not withstand judicial review, and all the while congress stood by doing NOTHING.
our congress has done just about jack squat about a lot of things in the last 15 or so years.

So the media and the Democrats all pushed the narrative there is no crisis at the border when Trump and his admin pushed for money and changes.

Now a few months later we're at the Democrat debates and suddenly NOW there's a crisis at the border.

According to reports, one kid had a bracelet on with the name of her mother and phone number. The mom was in the us. The lawyer who interviewed this kid called the mother, it was the first call she had gotten, she had been trying to find out where her child was at. Others had family members in the states, remember the girl that was recorded crying asking people to call her aunt of whatever and telling them the phone number.
One of my sons friend's father had an interesting story he told. His father managed to get himself and his son Out from the iron curtain. They were chased down, shot at while running through the forest. Why did he risk his sons life like that? Well, they were members of an aristocratic family and quite frankly it was more dangerous to stay. That argument has no standing unless you have an understanding what these people are running from.
Maybe the reason there's this crisis where kids are being out and out neglected is that too much energy is being used to apply blame and gain political points and no ones spending any time actually trying to find solutions.
I can at least entertain the idea occam is presenting that for the most part they are being given these things and it's not as bad as the press wants us to believe. But to accept the facts as they are presented and not zero in in it and shout out that you don't find it unacceptable treatment for children?? That takes an amazing amount of callous indifference.

They are not.
They are in mexico.
They could seek asylum in mexico.
It is their own personal choice NOT to stay in mexico.
