They're only watching out for their own ships, we watch out for everyone's ships.

But to be fair, it is just two different ways of watching out for one's own interests.

China and her government see a (likely domestic) advantage in protecting just herself and her own.

The US sees a geopolitical advantage in protecting others as well.

Neither is particular benevolent.

You forgot a category.

The gung-ho trigger-happy folks way too eager to see the war machine rolled out again.

You're right, thankfully they don't let us forget about them for too long.

Just wait until the Yuan is allowed to float against the dollar. The dollar will become worthless.

Trump and the ds underestimate iran if they think a bluff like this would work.

That being said I do not want war with iran ever.

The US wants Irans oil, we get it - just leave the rest of the world alone.

Have you ever heard about FRACKING in the USA? We don't need their oil.

FORBES:How The Fracking Revolution Broke OPEC's Hold On Oil Prices

We do.

If Iran sells it's oil to whoever and whenever it likes it allows the possibility of very low oil prices. As you know the dollar is heavily linked to oil.

This is why Iran is constantly touted as a threat and unreasonable sanctions put in place.

Probably the smartest thing they could do while we overextend ourselves.

Why should China, or any other country care about US sanctions?

Why would we want Iran's oil?
We haven't imported their oil in years.

Now safe passage of Saudi, Iraqi and Kuwaiti oil is a different story.

www.worldstopexports.com...

I never said the US wants to import the oil, They want the money that it is worth.

As soon as a country stops trading oil in petro-dollars, and therefor cut the free US money supply, they get a good portion of "freedom" delivered by the US.

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of islamic countries so I don't really care that much. Just dont pretend the US does it for any other reason than money. If you guys are ok with sending your sons and daughters to die in some desert, so you can fill up your V8 pickups cheap, just go ahead - the world is overpopulatet anyway.

Maybe the world isn't going to let the usa bully them anymore?

Seems like lately the world has become bold in their moves against us.

Its interesting you say that.

There is good reason the U.S. instantly pulled back on its idea of attacking Iran.

We were warned in no uncertain terms by our allies of dire economic and Intel access restrictions, as well of certain tech withdrawal.

Trump listened.

Exactly, we screw around in the puddle that is the Middle East and they concentrate on consolidating the western Pacific.

Oh, sometimes it pays to not just assume..

...I assumed you were comparing the Chinese stance to policing til the American. (Probably due to the topic. But that is no excuse)

My apologies.

Sometimes the best thing to do when boxing against someone out of your weight class is let them swing till they wear them selves out.

China seems to have been rather quite on this one for their ally. Maybe a US conflict with Iran actually fits their interests.

It's not a law for other country's but if you ignore those sanctions the US pusnish that country.

Like with the EU recently who wanted to bypass the US sanctions got this warning:

"Entities that continue to engage in sanctionable activity involving Iran risk severe consequences that could include losing access to the US financial system and the ability to do business with the United States or US companies," he said.

Nice dictatorial behavior...
Well, when your the worlds reserve currency, you can have that kind of pull.

Iran has been sanctioned and people who do business with them will be subjected to penalties.

Look at Huwaei, they got caught doing business and now they are blacklisted, and this is a chinese company too, Trump Admimistration gives no F#s.

What ever happened to BRICS?

BRICS is the acronym coined for an association of five major emerging national economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Brazil is cooked. South Africa is cooked. Iran could be on standby so this "war" could stop that.
