A Martian?

So if two people born on Earth travel to Mars have sex and have a baby that is born on Mars is that child a Martian?

Depends on what you call Martian. If there are aliens in Mars, then no, those are the real Martians. The person would just be called Human but born on Mars. We might be called Terran Human/Martian Human. But, not directly Martian.

No, he's a colonist. But if the colony becomes sustainable it won't be too many generations before the people born on Mars will consider themselves Martian and seek independence from Earth.

What we really want to know is how would it affect his eligibility to become president of the US someday. I guess if he chooses to run as a D, it will be no big deal but if you question his citizenship status, your's a conspiracy theorist, but if he chooses to run as an R, he suddenly becomes ineligible by reason of not having been born a natural born citizen?

Why should we let some martian have sway over american politics?

NO he wouldn't. Because his parents had not registered with the Martian authorities so they would be illegal aliens.

Not an indigenous Martian, but perhaps, yes, a Martian...

We have never actually come into contact with indigenous Martians anyway...not that any sentient life has been shown to exist on Mars anyway...
