For as long as I can remember (until the last year or so) the left argued about abortion in terms of "it should be rare, but legal. It's an unfortunate but necessary evil." Over the last year they have abandoned that and turned to what is an advanced take on a primitive form of human sacrifice, if you ask me. However, these primitive cultures tended to have the moral high ground on todays leftists. While they would sacrifice people it was often for a perceived, greater benefit. It's worth noting that to many in these primitive cultures it was a sacrifice, by the definition of the word. Today, people have abortions for appalling reasons like, I'm not ready to have kids (48% of abortions are for this reason). In other words, rather than a sacrifice it's a convenience.

Without further ado, here are the numbers (yes they're a little old, but this graphic is clean and easy and the current numbers/reasons haven't changed much at all):

As you can see, health reasons make up 7% of the current abortions. Rape makes up less than half a percent. It's truly disturbing what the abortion industry has become. However, at least the left is giving up the false pretense that they're worried about health and human life.

I don't doubt that there is a hidden black market for fetus', but that doesn't discount the idea that woman should beable to choose and not have their decisions be decided by men.

Maybe we should crack down on the black market for fetus' and illegalize abortions past a certain date. Compromise is needed. This endless back and forth solves nothing.

I was not aware that we only had male elected officials.

How hard is it to abstain from sex if you're not ready to handle the potential consequences of raising a child? Just go beat or rub one out. Somehow I've managed to abstain, despite not having a religious or ideological crutch to lean on and despite being one of these "toxic males" that thinks only with their penis.

As I've stated in other abortion threads, I don't think abortion should be illegal for the simple fact that they will happen regardless and made infinitely more dangerous for everyone involved as a result. However, there are a lot of people in this society - both male and female - that need to own up to the fact that they are weak, fallen people. Take some personal responsibility and ownership over your life and stop being a slave to your animalistic desires. I mean, is it not lost on anyone else that these are the same type of people that constantly lecture everyone else about how it is (insert current year) to attempt to try and make a point about how they think they live in this highly evolved society and are somehow beyond the brutal, barbaric ways of the past?

The whole "it's my body, my choice" thing is such an infantile argument. You already made your choice, honey -- and you chose poorly.

Women should be as appalled (if not more so) by this as men.
Whole industries revolve around aborting female babies.

I’m 100% pro choice but the celebration, jubilation and utter self righteous smugness exhibited by pro abortionists is sickening.

I differentiated pro choice and pro abortion as pro choicers don’t revel in the fact that an abortion is happening, it’s a necessary evil not something to party about

So why isn't the morning after pill given out freely to every woman?
Wouldn't that take care of the issue?

Or is that considered abortion too, and against pro-lifers wishes?

Pro-lifers consider that contraception.

The ones I know anyways.

Why don't sexually promiscuous women just buy a bottle?

Or just get a Norplant?

There are universities now that have morning after pills in dispensers.

Seems to be an at least workable answer for a lot of this...

Why did you think most women have abortions?

60% of women who have abortions already have children. 70% of all women getting abortions identify as Christians.

Also, abortion stats are historically low.

….from 2006 to 2015, the number, rate, and ratio of reported abortions decreased 24%, 26%, and 19%, respectively. In 2015, all three measures reached their lowest level for the entire period of analysis (2006—2015).

100% of women and men in your scenario forget that sex isn't for fun, but for procreation... what the hell do they expect?

What is that market, exactly? Why do people (supposedly) want human fetuses?

I'm not saying it doesn't exist. I've just never seen any actual information on this fetus black market. Do you have any resources to point me to?

My message got disrupted but I responded above ^^. I think a woman should be represented by women.

As long as people can be convinced that an unborn human being is less than nothing, then abortions will continue to exist.

Sad.

So because a LARGE majority of men made this decision to allow abortion in late stages of pregnancy does that make the decision evil?
Is it less evil than when a LARGE majority of men decided abortion was illegal?

You come across as a bit of a misandrist

You are attempting to frame the argument about abortion laws being all about dominant powerful men having control over a woman's body.

That mindset went away in the 70's for normal people, sweety.

Nowadays women can vote, have a job and live without a man!!!!

I'm pro-choice.

You are making the topic look silly.
