Calling people something they are not may help you rationalise the world, and may help others construct puerile memes, but it adds nothing to serious debate.

Farage may be many things, and he is certainly an existential threat to the comfortable march towards the UKs part in a federal and undemocratic European Union, but he’s not a racist. He does challenge those who are content to see unfettered immigration, but he’s no racist.

I am uncomfortable defending Farage, but I am tired of the personality assassination of lazy debate. Those people who can’t be arsed to discuss difficult topics, so close down discussion by simpleton name-calling.

My issue with Farage is that he only talks a good game. His actual actions are very uninspiring and, frankly, lack any effort.

Take the EU. He has been on the gravy train in Strasbourg a long time now but apart from arguing with foreign MEPs, what has he actually acheived? He doesn't even bother using his vote within the European Parliament most of the time. He has done nothing from within apart from the odd soundbite to look good in front of the cameras.

Then we have the referendum, he gets the result he wants......and walks away.

To me he is very much like Boris - probably very good company and an entertaining bloke to have a pint with. But not actually much cop at anything beyond increasing his profile and his wealth.

I suppose an honest politician with all of the people's interest at heart is simply too much to ask for.

I mean how would they even interface with, communicate and get things done where our bent financial institutions, banking system, and corporations are concerned.

The fact of the matter is that politics and business, whilst synonymous on many a level, just are not compatible.

Peoples lives matter more than profit and big business and people like Farage will always be on the side of his chums in financial London town.

He's not a Man of the people unless the people are Bankers and Big Business.

He doesn't blame the immigrants, he blames the politicians that have let it happen. It's the media that says he is blaming the migrants to make people like yourself hate him, because he is a threat to the establishment. We have had millions of extra people come to our country in the past few years, of course that will have an impact on traffic. Obviously it's not all down to immigration but NF didn't say it was.
