Rescue 4, lose 2. doesn't sound like a glorious success story to me.
I'd be willing to bet the two who were lost would beg to differ if they could.
My hat is off to anyone willing to lay their life down for another. They knew what was at stake.

Seriously? As society it is our responsibility to make sure the lifes of soldiers are not wasted. I say in this case there should have been a better outcome...
My being prior military. I would say the people going in knew the risks and accepted them. I bet the others would do it again. There is a culture there that most people will never understand.

Yes, military life is a hard life. But the people who make it into the position to make rescues like this, or even plan and execute any raids such as this, are there by their own choice. Nobody is forcing them to take on these dangerous missions.

Your attitude seems to be "happy death! He knew that's the military."
Did you know the military used its soldiers as guinea pigs? Did they have that coming too?
How much does a soldier have to give from his life?
Some have PTSD. They just don't function right in society anymore. Where do they go? The easiest way out. Drugs?
Why are people so eager to depart from society? What is missing in their life? After they've been on the line of life and death.
It's a Perpetuum Mobile endless circle of push and pull. We push them into death and when they come back they're on their own. Society doesn't pull enough.
We expect them to jump into life, but some don't even get up.
What is it in the average Western hemisphere habitant's opinion the meaning of it all? What's the point?
All I'm saying is we should overthink how much we value the life of soldiers and veterans.

But who to they subscribe their sacrifice to? The constitution? The president and they swear new every election? The flag and country, but who decides what's in that's best interest?
Yes, but by reading your threads and your posts on this site, it is plain to see that you do not have a solid grip on reality or any understanding of social norms. I bet you find yourself pulling your foot out of your mouth pretty often.
