Counterfeit plates? QA dept was fired. 😲

Other than the Oh # moment, there is no way this was an overlooked 'mistake'.

Someone knew and assumed nobody would ever catch it.

Well, it is Australia, after all. If they spelt "youtube" the way they say "youchoob" they would be misspelling that all the time.

It takes maybe ten seconds, max, to open up Microsoft Word and type in a word to see if the red squiggly line appears to mark it as misspelled.

A word of advice from an Aussie:

Best to leave the use of Australian slang to Aussies. It just sounds wrong when foreigners try.

Also, given the utter incompetence of our current (very soon to be former) government, this error does not surprise me in the least.

New ones are selling for $50 - $90 on Ebay! Now would be a good time to take advantage of the media and make a quick buck

New Australlia $50

I have a theory that one of the symptoms of a society in collapse is the creeping institutional incompetence that everyone notices.

three quarters of a century ago, when monopoly was first introduced, one of the 'community chest' cards said: "Bank error in your favor; collect 75 dollars." At the time, that was seen as a massive joke. The treasurer of the bank personally checked the balance-books every day at the close of business. And would have been fired if there was a penny error.

Nowadays when you step up the the checkout line in a store, the teenage clerk will tell you that she cannot ring you up because the computers are down.

We are all slowly shedding IQ points, collectively. And becoming more and more accepting of gross incompetence.

The ancient greeks believed in a cycle of ages. That the age of gods had been "the golden age." The era of heroes was a silver age. The age of great generals that they lived in was the Iron Age. And finally would come the age of lead, when men have gone soft, and corruptible....

Wonder if it has to do with hiring based on diversity rather than merit?
What a terribly unfortunate lens chosen through which to view one's universe!

Might be collectable if they take them out of circulation, other than that..46 million of them, they will hold face value.
