Just figured I would post this as its just breaking just now so a little light on the details but reports are that:

French police say an armed teenager has taken multiple hostages in a store on the outskirts of Toulouse.

A police spokeswoman said four hostages were taken in a convenience store in Blagnac, near Toulouse airport.

She said it's too early to rule out terror without knowing the hostage-taker's demands.

Fake news. Can't happen if you pass highly restrictive gun laws.

www.washingtonpost.com... 04bexnews]Isn't it interesting that the tragedy in Paris took place in one of the toughest gun control countries in the world?"

Why didn't France's gun laws save the Charlie Hebdo victims?

French gun laws date back to April 18, 1939, though they have been amended a number of times since. They are certainly tough: There is no right to bear arms for the French, and to own a gun, you need a hunting or sporting license which needs to be repeatedly renewed and requires a psychological evaluation.

You mean crazy people do crazy things, no matter what laws they're supposed to obey ?

Dutch media now report that he has let all the hostages go after contact with police but is still holed up in the shop. He is not suspected of having a terrorist motive for his deed but has offered no explanation either, as of yet.

Nothing is wrong with guns it’s the people who hold the guns who kill people. Maybe not everyone you see being human is really human. 😂

I don't believe it. France does not allow private gun ownership therefore there is no way that person has a gun.

I hope it ends calmly with no loss of life.

The hostages were released a hour ago, according to this site (in French).

Apparently, he was known by the police for being questioned during one of the Yellow Jackets demonstration, in which he presented himself as being "the armed arm" of the movement.

Well actually they do allow "private gun ownership"... But why let a silly little thing like reality get in the way of your own biased narrative.

It's very hard to own a gun in France. VERY very difficult. Probably one of the most difficult places to own a gun that exists. You'd probably model US gun laws after theirs if you had half a chance.

Not sporks, but they can sure as hell kill 84 in mere seconds using a truck.
www.baltimoresun.com...

Wisely, there were no calls to further regulate trucks in France.
