As I've said many times Republican owned media outlets as those on cable news are not "left wing" slanted. If you want true left wing points of view and commentary you have to go to Mother Jones or Truthout.Org websites.

I recently read an article on truthout.org that very close represents my views. Here is my paraphasing of the article.

When we hear how well the economy is doing what does that mean. Here I will use "worker" to mean the worker making the median worker's wage. This economy is NOT working for the worker making the median wage but is heavily weighted towards those already in power.

Is it really "healthy" if the worker has to work three jobs just to make ends meet? Minimum wage has not kept up with inflation. Healthcare costs, copays and out-of-pocket expenses, are through the roof. Student debt is over $1.5 trillion. What does "healthy" means is key.

This time around if the Democrats run a right-bent "centrist" candidate they will just lose like last time. Why is the Democratic Establishment so hell-bent on a centrist? It's a losing strategy. We've have three decades of centrists. Reagonomics just doesn't work. The rich always squirrel away every cent of the tax cut. Deregulation of consumer protections just physically hurts consumers! Healthcare costs are astronomical. We have the largest percentage of people in prison than any other country in the World. Social safety net is always under attack.

Joe Biden is centrist and is guarenteed to fail. If Joe wins the party nomination people will stay home. I think the Democrat party has been taken over by Republicans. Joe is the perfect candidate to allow Republicans to win.

“The country is governed for the richest, for the corporations, the bankers, the land speculators, and for the exploiters of labor,”

“The majority of mankind are working people. So long as their fair demands — the ownership and control of their livelihoods — are set at naught, we can have neither men’s rights nor women’s rights. The majority of mankind is ground down by industrial oppression in order that the small remnant may live in ease.”

"Keller wrote that more than 23 years before the New Deal."

This is the best paragraph from the article:

"If a sick person can be healed but isn’t, if a hungry person can be fed but isn’t, if a homeless person can be sheltered but isn’t, and if the only reason they remain sick, hungry and homeless is the profit motive of the system, that system is broken. If tens of millions of people hear about the booming economy and see none of its benefits, that system is broken."

THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN.

The Era of “Centrist” Establishment Democrats Is Over

This article is truly "left wing" politics. Not the centrist Republican-Lite BS on cable news.

So many words... yet so little actual said.

A lot of the issues the median worker is facing is because of leftist policies... feminism, globalism, regulations, illegal immigration...

I wish you were right, as I was in 2016 because Clinton was a lame duck but unfortunately you might be incorrect. The progressives are not where the money and political power within the party is.

I can already forecast most of the 2020 Democratic primary: Biden vs Sanders. There will be a third place progressive, maybe a fourth advocating agendas and getting publicity but that's about it. The money will pool into those two camps, best chance for progressives and moderates.

The moderates are the majority of the party, just not outspoken and can't be divisely argumentative with the progressives in the party during sensitive times of government minority and elections.

But who were those quiet, endless masses that got behind Clinton after the primary in 2016? Hmm.

If you complain that the system is failing you, but have done nothing to improve yourself...you might be a Democrat.

If the party platform is not compelling enough to get out the vote there where the money is located is not the solution.

Who, indeed?
Only Clinton voters I've met in person were voting against trump, not for her.
I still think the quiet endless masses voting for Clinton were faceless and lifeless too.

Fact or opinion?

Fact:

Feminism; The push for women in the workforce increased the supply of workers and contributed to the stagnation of wages, particularly in the corporate world. It also created a situation where you now have two parents working and the burdensome need for daycare.

Globalism; High business costs, taxes, etc make the ROI of moving a business overseas far more palatable. Good bye manufacturing.

Regulations; Raise cost of products. Not saying all regulations are bad or that we don't need any, but you'd have to be blind and ignorant to not understand how burdensome /questionable regulations don't raise the costs of goods and services. I could literally do an entire thread on this topic alone.

Illegal Immigration; same as feminism. Creates oversupply of low skilled workers and thus destroying the wages of that group.

So yes, the low and middle worker is getting killed. However, it isn't because of evil Republicans / Capitalist but the liberal policies that you leftist love to push.

I can continue.... healthcare, public schools, student loans, affordable housing, etc. Behind every screwed up a social issue is a leftist policies creating the root of the problem.

I really have to snicker at that. The US is how old? Since 1776 please tell me when there was ever a social net, free health care, free education, or free anything. Yet we kept on a rollin....and a prosperin.

And the New Deal has been academically proven to have extended the depression. I will have to research that article agsin...but I believe it was a Berkley duo.

Back in the day....charities and churches filled that void. So beeyatch to them.

When voter ID is required, dragging in all those tombstones will be tiring.

Troll.

Is that fact or opinion?

You really think the progressives are gonna fix the economy? based on what? Higher taxes and fake idealism to gain votes.

I actually push for establishment democrats to take back their party and stop this identity politics and division by the majority left media you claim to not exist

The article was talking about working man issues. It had nothing to do with identity politics.

You need to at least provide some proof or references to all those incredibly bold statements you make, which i suspect are emotionally driven
